Disney Dream - Prices

Did anyone get a Cat 5, Two adults, 1 child, August 2011 for 5 nights?

Looking to compare prices.

Thanks

Remember as we look at what prices people are booking at....My CM this morning said they were told the prices could change hourly. And that was up or down. I made the call with a range we could pay and ended up being pleased with what we got. I later checked a similar date, room, etc for the WONDER in 2010 and the WONDER price on line was a LOT more! Can't be upset about what I paid for the DREAM.

Would you mind posting the break down for the first 2 guests, and then 3/4. Trying to get an idea of price for 2A for the 5 nighters.

thanks!

Was surprised seems pretty comparable to the old ships

Hourly??? Seriously?? That's crazy. How on earth do they get away with that? :sad2:

Got a cat 11B guarantee for 143 DVC Points each. We could have booked 1 with points and one with cash but we said what the heck use the points as we live in Fl and just go for a couple nights when we go..we have 87 points to use up before sept 2010 so that will give us a couple of nights..got the ins with disney as it was only about $100. for the points part and for the medical..looked at insure my trip.com and the cheapest was $138. VERY EXCITED TO GO ON THE MV, and the best part is we can drive to the boat as it is about 30 min away!! This will be our 6th cruise with disney and it still is the best ship for the money, went on RC, did not like it..wish that disney had a library though. SEE ALL ON BOARD FOR THE MV..:goodvibes

Please post any pricing posts to the stick thread at the top of the forum. We are tying to keep all the pricing in one thread for easier reference.

Thank you.

April 10, 2011 4 night cruise, cat 5D, deck 6 starboard, $1904.34 for two adults, plus OBC for transferring a previously booked Baltics cruise. Includes cruise, insurance and transfers. $200 pp deposit required immediately, so I just left the $600 deposit from the Baltics cruise that I cancelled and transferred to the Dream. I believe I still got the 10% booking discount too.
This is a birthday trip too for me, my 65th birthday on April 10th, 2011.

You got a $200 OBC for a 4 night cruise. I flipped a reservation this morning to a 5 night on the dream and they told me $150 OBC

Thank-You! Very helpful! I can't book until next week - I know the 10As are limited, and prices will probably change, but hoping for one anyway!

Did anyone book one of the other 2 remaining standard inside staterooms on deck 10 (Cat 11a) MV?
If you did, then we are neighbors on the maiden voyage! Hiyoooooooo!!!!!

One of the posts earlier said the 10a's had all gone as there was only 19 of them. I may be wrong but I'm sure I saw it earlier.

I can't decide between an 11 (of any variety) or a veranda which I believe to be a 6 or 7.
An 11 would allow me to experience the virtual porthole which would be good, it's obviously cheaper and it would allow us to have more money to spend on cocktails and souvenirs. A veranda room, although more money, would give us more room (only 2 adults though) and a veranda of course!!

Difference is about $900 .. that's alot isn't it?!
Think I've just made up my own mind ... smaller inside room but more OBC.

Hopefully me on the 9th!!! :) I'm not holding my breath though.

Isn't it aggravating that us lowly silver cc members (and those who haven't cruised yet) can't even get a lousy quote??? I'm trying to organize a group and we really want at least one suite, but I hate waiting until I'm on the phone to find out what kind of cost I'm looking at and having to make the decision right then! :sad2:

Keep in mind that they will gladly put a cabin on a courtesy hold and then you have a couple of days to either keep it and pay the deposit, or cancel (the reservation will cancel automatically if you don't pay the deposit by the due date). So, you really don't have to make any snap decisions while you're on the phone with the CM.

That's the way things have always worked on DCL. As a cabin category fills up, the prices start to go up. I remember when we booked the first EB Panama Canal crossing, the prices went up several hundred dollars per person during the course of the first day that the reservations were available. Some/most of the airlines do the same thing..... as the plane fills up, the prices go up. From what I've seen it's pretty standard practice in the travel industry.

Easy...the same way every other place that takes reservations and prices are based on occupancy.
Have you checked airfares? They can change every 5 minutes at some points during the day either up or down depending how fast they are selling seats.
