Disney Dream October 7, 2016

Do you feel, in general, the drinks are not very strong ? Sometimes I feel like that with specialty drinks.

Not at all, I think at the sail away party they tend to get watered down so to speak if you are just taking drinks from the trays (they scan your card to pay so you don't have to wait in line at the bar) because they have been on the tray for awhile and they are blended drinks but other than that they seem to be on par with that of a good bartender. Not overly strong and not weak. On our honeymoon 100 years ago, one of our guests fell in the pool as we were all walking around the pool deck, it was a simple misstep but also feeling a bit tipsy from about 4 BBC's (Which are the best drink in the world!) HAHAHAH!! It's one of our favorite memories and she has never lived that down.

I was trying to find a way to do the day pass online, but never found it. Do you get it on the ship ?

For the day pass you have to fax in your request with the gift and amenities paper or you can also call your request in. This link should work or you may need to sign in to your account: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/gifts-and-amenities/

We are doing the length of stay pass and that one can only be purchased once onboard :) I am heading there pretty much as soon as we board! LOL

I will have one of these on my beach bag which will also serve as our carry-on and on our stateroom door. Our plan upon getting on the ship is to head to the kids club for the open house, get the Rainforest Room spa passes, have some lunch at Cabanas and do the Aquaduck. If you see this bag, come up and say hi!!

On previous cruises we have done kids meet ups on the first day, so that kids can get to know one another and have some type of ice-breaker with their parents around. We have met at the Aquaduck, met by the ice cream machine and outside of the kids clubs before. I am noticing that this group is much smaller, so hopefully we will just see one another around the ship! Feel free to message people or ask about a quick meet up if so desired!

Is anyone else doing the Rainforest Room at least once on the trip?

Thanks for the Spotify advice! We've had it playing all morning :rockband:

Couple questions-

1-Do you think it would be useful for the kids to have a drawstring bag to carry around the ship?
2-Rainforest Room do you do the couples pass?
3-Dinner, if we rotate through restaurants, we don't necessarily know if we will be in the same place, correct?

Getting so excited! :tigger:

Yay for Disney music, it's our small addiction right now!

1.My kids have only needed an additional bag for Castaway day, it has their beach stuff in it in case they don't want to hang with us and want to go over to the kids area and we want to spend some time in the adults area after snorkeling. On the ship they really don't need anything, unless they have their mugs for refilling soda or toppings for the ice cream bar. If they know they are going to go to the pool, they just use their castaway bag and take turns carrying it.

2. Yes on the couples pass, as much as it is a family vacation, we are ditched by our kids often and my husband and I spend all the rest of the time attached at the hip, so it makes sense to just do it that way. If he is doing a beer tasting, I go along and they don't charge me. Same with the champagne tasting for me and he just tags along :)

3. True, we may not be in the same restaurant at the same time, which is why I am hoping that we all get a chance to see each other on embarkation day. I know this is why many groups do meet-ups so they can have a get-to-know-you moment, I am hoping a simple sign on our bag will be enough! LOL

Family Dining Question:

Is anyone traveling with another family or have friends aboard that they are requesting to sit with? What have your previous experiences been with strangers? I am hoping we get a table with kids close to the ages of our kids! We are traveling to WDW with another family but they are not doing the cruise.

My husband is 6' 4" (and very handsome) he's hard to miss!

All people that we are waiting to hear from have been private messaged or I have posted on their wall if they do not have their messages activated. I have also quoted their posts and tagged them in threads to activate other forms of notification. Hopefully one of these methods will work!

@sew_obcessed (looks like she moved to a 10/10 cruise) , @wsq_nyu (Only posted on the DIS once on this board and has never been back) & @CSkalski (looks like she moved to a 10/8 cruise) , we are just waiting to hear from you! We need your stateroom information as well as if you are first or second seating for dinner and please share a photo! We are also missing information on whether your children are boys or girls @wsq_nyu !

Thank you all so much and I hope you still plan on joining us! I will be sending out more private messages or writing on your profile pages today!

@hillfam: we just need to know if you are first or second dining and additional information on your family please (boys ages and if it is 2 adults and if you are still interested in participating since we moved you from the alternate list)

@Millers800: please share if you are in 1st or second dining!

ALL ABOARD!!!! It's lunchtime on embarkation day, where are you headed?
Cabanas for a buffer selection?
Enchanted Garden for table service?
Tow Maters for burgers and what not?
Luigis for Pizza?

We are headed to Cabanas and my daughter will have a seagull bow in her hair!

It's the bow at the top :)

I hadn't thought about it. I'm assuming we will be very hungry by the time we get aboard. Do you recommend Cabana's?

We are watching Jungle Book tonight!

Excellent choice on a movie! We love the animated and new versions alike!
We like Cabanas because it lets everyone grab what they want and not waste. I know the kids are going to be too excited to eat much and sitting still in a restaurant will not be what they want! Hahaha!! We are just checking out of the resort and getting on the road so I know they will be hungry :)

In my honest opinion Luigis pizza is beyond terrible, even if it's midnight and you are starving, I would prefer to go to the room and order some mickey bars and an appetizer from room service! LOL

Hopefully I get a fun bow in my fish extender! I'm not so crafty to make one myself :earsgirl:

It has been A LOT of youtube videos! Hahaha!!! My older two work at a historical museum in their Victorian village and my daughter has to wear her hair in a bow and mine always looked terrible...as in they looked like I did them with my feet! The women there would always re-do hers! Hahaha!!
