Disney Dream November 13, 2014 Double Dip

Hi there! We are booked on this cruise with two other couples- all of us leaving the kids home for a week of adults at Disney! Dh (Pods) and I(Ellen) are in one cabin, wannabeadismom(Joan) & her DH, Peter, in another, and our friends Evie & Tom in a third. This will be my 6th DCL cruise, and my 3rd on the dream- 2nd for Joan, and 1st for Evie. I think we will be staying 3 or 4 nights before the cruise at BWV, heading straight home afterwards. Hi guys, in case you haven't checked your emails, we've been rescheduled. And they don't want us to call about it until 6/11. The email says they are moving everything; the cruise date we've been moved to had a cruise that has also been moved, so I assume they are moving us all properly. (though right now my cruise account shows me on a cruise in Jan of 2015 on deck 9 which is SO not correct, LOL...so only check the account if you're not faint of heart)


Anyway, this post in this thread shows the chart that includes our cruise.

I received an email from DU today: Looks like ours is bumped to Oct 23.

We are currently in the process of making plans to relocate the Disney Magic from Miami to Port Canaveral, Florida, in October 2014. As part of this relocation, Disney Dream sailings scheduled to depart Port Canaveral on Sunday and Thursday are being modified to Monday and Friday departures.

As a convenience for Guests booked on these sailings, we will be modifying their sail date to accommodate the new Monday and Friday departures and a revised confirmation will be sent to your agency's attention within the week. Below is a listing of revised Disney Dream sail dates:

Well, this is horrible news -- well, not horrible, just majorly disappointing. No email here, so thanks for the heads up. Checked my acct online and it says my date is Jan. 2, 2015, no other details. Since I booked the cruise for my 70th birthday on Nov. 15th, guess I will be looking for an alternative plan. Very sad -- was really looking forward to celebrating with this trip. Oh well, that's what happens with making plans so far out. Have no doubts that I will come up with something just as good if not better to do! Just got back from a wonderful one month solo trip to Florida, most at WDW -- not going to let this news spoil the remaining glow from all the fun I had on that vacation. (Hope to get a trip report up in the near future).

It is a bummer about your birthday. Weirdly, I liked the Nov date because it was a month after my birthday (somehow we keep ending up doing Disney things in October, my birthday month), and now we're back into "my" month.

I also haven 't gotten the email yet but looks like I will no longer be cruising in Nov 2014. This was supposed to depart on my 50th bday- so like a couple of previous posters I will likely have to make alternate plans. At least we know far in advance!

Fine with me. We are going to try to move to the Nov 10th sailing if possible. We aren't very particular about cabins as long as we have a window. Good luck to everyone.

We're moving to the 10th too. Only issue with it is that it messes with our WDW trip. Oh well, a cruise is a cruise

I guess I went for the "making lemonade" option. Saw the notice about the good prices on the cruise this year out of Galveston on the Wonder, so booked that one for my birthday this year. Really wanted to do the double-dip on the Dream for my 70th, but, hey a few more days for not many more dollars (mostly a reasonable amount of airfare), and a similar itinerary works out, I guess. Just have to switch some vacation dollars from next year to this year, and get excited sooner! Who knows, maybe I'll keep the rescheduled one next year also and see a few of you then.
Ah, the wonderful flexibility of being retired.
