Disney Dream June 8, 2014 sailing

Pritchfam- approved it this morning! Hopefully we get lots of people to join :) right now the fb group is my family (there's a total of 19 of us sailing for a family reunion) and 2 others :)

We just signed up! It's just my recent college graduate daughter and I taking our annual Mom & Daughter Disney excursion. We would love to do fish extenders if any other children at heart are interested.

Just went to the FB page and requested to join :)

This is our first family vacation!!!! Our daughter just turned 2 and we are so excited! Thinking about participating in a FE group??? Just not sure about all the details…?

I'm also interested in learning more about fish extender groups and how they work. My wife and I are taking our 6-year old daughter on her first cruise and want her to get the full experience.

We did the fish extenders on a three night in June last year. My kids loved coming back to the room and getting the "mickey mail" that was left at our room. It was just an added bonus to the cruise.

For those that don't know...
A fish extender is a hanging "pocket" that attaches to the fish clip that is outside of the rooms. These are used for the crew to put reminders or other items on. Usually each "pocket" has each person's name on it (mine didn't have names but had pictures of characters). Then each family puts a gift or two in the pockets during the trip for each family/member. Each family makes and brings their own extender. Just search for fish extender and you lots of great ones!

We got small toys, candy, pirate gear, dish towels. magnets, note cards, coasters, and lots of other things. Some of the items we used and some we didn't but it was more the excitement of getting back to the room and going through our "mail". Some of the items were handmade, some were store bought, and some were a combination. I don't think that it really mattered as it was the thought that counted!

Also, our group cut off the sign up about 3 months in advance so that we could go ahead and know for sure how many gifts that we needed to made and tag.

A few things to think about are: weight if you are flying, how much you want to spend, do you want to spend time delivering gifts (we enjoyed getting to go around the ship), and will you be happy with about anything that you give since it is more of the thought than the actual gift (you can't please everyone).

I would love to do this again and will help someone set it up if anyone else is willing!!!

Can't wait for June!!

It is my two children (7,8) and my mother that will be with me.

This is my experience with fish extenders. Hope this helps some!!

Hi All,
I am interested in chatting with others who will be on the Dream, June 8, 2014 and maybe doing a meet... anyone interested in setting up a private mixology class?
Thinking I am going to pass on the fish extender, but would still love to communicate with others.
Tried looking for a facebook group, but can't find anything listed as Disney Dream June 8 2014.

I am traveling with my DH, DS(11,7 and 2) and DS(9) as well as my parents, brother, sister in law and their three kids!

I checked the cruise meets, and it brought me to this thread as well.
