Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Got my FE gifts in the mail now I just need to add a label and I will be done with those. We have all the suitcases out and I have gathered most of the non-clothing items - this weekend it all pretty much gets packed by Monday night. I am making ONE more trip to Wal-Mart this weekend and if I don't get it then it is not coming with us. All I should have left to pack are toiletries and those last minute items since we leave next Friday!!! It is hard to believe it is so close. We are all working and at school Tues - Thurs and then a 1/2 day on Friday before we leave so I pretty much want to be at least 90% ready before Tuesday so hopefully the last days will not be too stressful.

Well, last night was fun. Two trips to Ro's bathroom due to sirens going off. Had about 10 minutes of hearing our roof get beat by hail. Winds were absolutely crazy. Fortunately no damage for us. I know there are some other DFW'ers here. Everyone alright?

My brother in law was out at the Ranger game when they evacuated them due to the weather. Heard they had to evacuate both airports - DFW and Love Field. Lots of big hail, high winds and tornadoes bouncing around. Normally I'm just fascinated by these big storms but after the deadly tornadoes that have been spawning lately, I was more of a nervous wreck last night than anything else.

Principessa - Were you able to get your flight out before the storms hit here last night? Was thinking about you when they started talking about hail at DFW.

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!!

Rose, Congrats to Sean!! That is just awesome!!!! and I too, will trade my straight as a board hair for some curly locks! My hair is very fine and thin. ANY amount of wind, rain or humidity just does it in!

Congrats to those that are losing weight! We really need to, but once again, it's something that has been put off and I'm not going to worry about! I am what I am! Although, after Steve's Dr's appt yesterday, she told him he has to get up and get moving. She wouldn't take his "I work a 12 hour shift" as an excuse either. I think when we are on the ship, I might try to get him to go to the gym and try out the ellipticals. Steve has bad knees, and I've heard these are easier on joints...and it would be nice to try them out for a week and see if its worth the investment!

I have my 4th Droid. I was told that the second one I got was also new....So, I've only had 2 Warrenty Replacements. He told me policy is you have to have 3 bad phones in 6 months before they give you another new one. He also said that my phone number might not be compatible with this phone? To me, that is the CRAZIEST thing I have ever heard! But who knows....I had the last one for 8 months...maybe this one will last longer? I'm tired of setting up phones...takes forever to get the apps back and set up the ringtones, etc.

I can't believe we are leaving next Friday for Disney. I know the time is going to just fly by...the next 9 days and then the next 20 of vacation!!! I have REALLY got to focus!!! LOL!!! and I wonder where Connor gets his ADD from? hhmm......

Ok...off to get something accomplished!!

Prayers to all that are in the path of these storms. How crazy is this weather?? Going to be near 90 today...which is warm for us...and when it warms, it storms!!

Popping in to say "hi". It is getting harder to do. Alot of posts to catch up on.
I have been doing alot of prep to get my list stuff in a box. I now have everything on the list except the things I need to make. That will be this weekend. Also need to try on clothes to make sure we don't need anything new.
We made our new fish extender this last weekend. The only thing that is left is to personalize it. On our last cruise, Sydney stayed in the room with my grandma, so she had one separate from the rest. I will try to post a picture this weekend.
I just can't believe this trip is getting so close. I'm freaking out a little. I haven't had time to plan like I normally do. We have WDW before and I don't have plans set for that. I don't know what we are doing on port days. Not sure what close I'm taking....
Plus, I have the added headache of packing all of Sydney's dance stuff. The minute we get off the plane, we head to her final dance competition for this year. I will be trying to put on her makeup and costume in the car.

I haven't posted anything in awhile. My younger son is graduating high school next week and it has been so crazy!! From reading posts, I know we aren't the only ones with crazy schedules! Nathan takes his last senior final tomorrow, Band banquet Friday night, up to the hill country for my nephews graduation Saturday then to Austin for State solo/ensemble on Monday. then Nathan's graduation ceremony next Thursday.
Needless to say we are all ready for the cruise!
We are all looking so forward to meeting everyone! I was just reading these posts and dreaming of our 3pm meeting on deck 12 on June 12th

You guys are making me feel better! I thought I was the only one that is so far behind! We went to the mall for a speed shopping trip for my son this evening...it was after hockey, so we didn't get there til 8...the mall closed at 9! We still managed to get new tennis shoes, a bunch of shorts and t shirts, and 2 pairs of swim trunks! Not bad for under an hour. He's pretty much set, just need to find a pair of khakis and a shirt or 2 for dinner, and he'll be good. I'm a different story!

This time 2 weeks from now, we'll be in Florida. I may not have clothes to wear, but we'll be there! And our fish extender gifts will be too! Thats all that matters-right?!?

Lots of craziness in 2 weeks, with school ending, sports, and the busiest time of the year for work for me! I don't think much sleep is in my future!

My last day of teaching is today. A week from today I am done with school for the year. Then a week to pack. Tempus Fugit!

Just informed my Visa what dates I'll be traveling so there is no problem using my card out of town and while I was on that site I wanted to request to transfer my Disney points to my reward card.
I already had a reward card so thought it would be quick.

Boy am I glad I checked today! My reward card is expired so I had to order a new one and it will take about 7 to 10 days to arrive!
Cutting it close!

So people if you haven't transferred your Disney points from your Disney Visa yet, do it today!

Thanks Rose for reminding me. While I don't have a Disney Visa, I do want to notify Visa of the dates I'm travelling since I will be using my Visa Debit Card for my shipboard charges (after my OBC).

Good Evening Fellow Cruisers!!

I guess we won't be gone for 20 days...but more like 15! Still a long time!! and yes, I am truely blessed!! More than I would have EVER imagined!!!

We have not used a credit card in 5 years...as part of our debt reduction plan. Although, I think Steve is wanting to use our Disney Visa for this trip. 2 reasons, first, to accumulate the rewards for the next trip and two, to keep a good total of what we are spending. We have the cash and would pay it off upon return. But I don't know! After not using one for so long, it's almost daunting....scary.... I don't EVER want to get there again!! Oh, and by using it to book the next cruise, we get an extra $50 OBC. So, we'll see....

I bought a few pairs of shorts today! And it was SO painless! Ya'll know what I mean!! I walked into JCPenneys, tried on 4 pair and they all fit and look good! Went right to the check out...everything was on sale AND I had a coupon! It was a goooooood day!!

Tomorrow the dogs are going to the vet for check ups and boosters, then another trip to walmart for last minute goodies. I told the boys this weekend we'll drag out the suitcases and pack what we don't need during the week. I know I printed off a list...hhmmm...where DID I put that??

I just put the mail on hold and tried to do the paper, but was unsuccessful. Might just have to call them. Talked to the neighbor who will come and just check on the house since we'll be gone for so long. I haven't bought any outside plants so no worries about needing watered! I have hired a boy to cut grass for us too! I'm starting to think I am in better shape than I thought!

Ok...off to paint my nails. Wouldn't it just figure...2 weeks before vacation and I break 3 nails! I don't have artificial ones, nor do I want them, and usually, I don't have issues with them breaking! Oh well....they'll be short and neat this time!

I know, it's sad when you have to leave the ship. While I'm not planning another cruise yet (and I stress yet, I am already in the beginning planning stage of a Disney World trip next summer. Rachel & I want to go back to Disney World next year and are hoping one of her friends and his mother will go at the same time. We are trying to coordinate the trip together. But I will most likely not get to really planning until after our cruise. Just too much to do right now.

I have been thinking about this lately..how sad it's going to be to leave the cruise ship. We also don't have any vacations planned right now, and probably won't till DD graduates. We will probably be going on a mission trip next year to Mexico. Last year we went to Peru.

I am wondering how much I'll gain on the cruise. Hoping to get a little exercise in sometime, and was thinking of doing the Castaway 5K. My DD does not want to do it. I don't recall any of us planning to do it, but if anyone is, please post, and maybe we can plan to meet up for that.
