Hi everyone! I just graduated from nursing school and received a very generous gift, which is the Disney cruise! This will probably be a once in a life time kind of experience for me (and my boyfriend) so i'm trying to make the best of it (unless I'm able to find a job and save up :earsboy:). Anyway, I have booked a stateroom with an ocean view. Not the deluxe family size. Whenever I see posts on here or pictures, they either have verandahs or family ocean view. How is the regular ocean view staterooms? Is the porthole small? I wanted to set up my 2nd GoPro on the porthole for some time-lapse frames while we're out.

I've been doing overload and tons of research because it is so close! I really can't contain myself. A few things I have planned are palo brunch and parasailing. Any other must do's? I kind of wanted to do a day pass for the spa.. is it worth it? How about internet? (It's kind of my first adult trip and my parents are a little iffy about me being across the country and would like me to at least Facebook message them that i'm ok [i'm 24 by the way, but my parents still treat me like their little girl lol]). Any advice or tips would be helpful.

Anyway, i'm very humbled and excited to be going on my very first cruise. I remember watching the documentaries on the Travel channel and never thought in a million years I would ever get to experience such a thing.

Thanks everyone! :earsboy:

Google your room number and ship and look at images, and you might be able to find your actual room.

You mentioned that you'll be across the country, so I assume you're in the west somewhere? My stepmom is a nurse and from her first year working in the NICU in the Santa Cruz CA area she was making really good money. Able to buy a house in that very expensive area sort of money. Hope you find something similar; once in a lifetime experiences make me sad and I don't do them! I do thing I'll repeat. :)

Unless you buy internet or pay lots of money for using your cell at sea, that's not going to be easy. Depending on where you're stopping you might be able to connect with Starbucks wifi or something like that and send them a message.

Otherwise, let them know your ship, and if they don't' see your ship in the news, they'll know that you're fine. :)

Yes, I reside in Southern California! The job market is really tough right now. Although they say nursing is at a high demand right now it certainly does not feel like it. At least where I live. But Anyway! Yes, i'll be on The Dream and doing a double dip to Castaway Cay as well as a stop in Nassau. I googled wifi spots so I know i'll find something. I wish I could give you insight about my life but to make it short, I have very strict/protective parents and just knowing them one call isn't enough. I've seen price examples on this website for internet packages but I feel a little iffy buying it if it won't always work. As far as staterooms I did google and i'm out of luck! I did stumble upon one picture, but I'd like more reviews and personal experiences. I've also went to the stateroom reports on this website as well but no one mentions the porthole.

The Dream has internet. You get 50mb free if you sign up before midnight on your first day. Then they offer packages, which seem very reasonable in my opinion. You have to make sure you turn off auto updates of apps on your cell phone if you are using that to Facebook. Otherwise I've read it will use up all your data quickly. We are sailing right after you on the double dip. Enjoy!

Hi, My daughter and I will be on the same cruise!!! Congrats on graduating from nursing school. This cruise is a gift to my daughter for graduating too. She is now an elementary teacher. I was able to Google our room. We have a room with balcony. I hope we all have a wonderful time!

If you are like my wife and me, we did our first "once in a lifetime Disney cruise" seventeen Disney cruises ago! We will be sailing on the DREAM the week after you. The "regular" ocean view staterooms look like the family oceanview staterooms so any photo with one large porthole or two smaller size portholes (depending on which deck you are on) will be pretty much what your room will look like. If you can swing the cost, Remy's is not to be missed as is Palo's. Just make sure you both bring proper attire for these dining experiences. the only other thing you need not to miss is the no extra charge MICKEY ICE CREAM BARS. Just ask your waiter or room service and they will supply them for you.other then that Bon Voyage and Congrats!
