First time cruiser here, recently back from a 3-day cruise on the Disney Dream. While wandering the ship I loved the front view of the ocean on deck 13, but saw there were signs saying the are was only for people over 18. I wanted to show my son the view, but never got around to finding out if that restriction was 24 hours a day, or if there was another deck with a view of the front. Is there a place on the ship for kids to get this unique view of the ocean?

Thanks!

Deck 13 forward is the adult only area. Only exception I've ever heard of is if you are doing a back-to-back cruise the transition time between when you get back on the ship until the new cruisers board kids were allowed there.

Best you could do would be deck 12 at the Funnel Puddle (along the side looking forward). Another choice would be to see if you can get in Outlook (Deck 14 only accessible by midship elevators/stairs). There's a big window on the forward side of that

Or having a room at the very forward on deck 6, 7, or 8.

Just book cabin 12000, 12002 or 12502 and the view will be the same even though you are on deck 12.

If you do book concierge we have walked DS out of the concierge sun deck area to head to the aquaduck and back. We were just using it as a way to get from place to place in wet swimwear. If you are concierge you often have to walk through the cove area to go back and forth from pools or lunch in Cabanas. It is treated like kids in Vegas casinos, as long as you are moving through the main thoroughfares you are allowed to get from place to place. Even if you are “cutting through” on deck 13 to the elevators the problem is you will still not get to the front of the ship.

As Schmoo mentioned, heading into the outlook on deck 14 forward is probably the best bet. If there is not active event you can often find it open to walk in and take a look.

This is a drawback of the dream class vs the classics. The only way to get that view for kids really is the tv and watch the bridge view channel.

Thanks for the additional information. I thought it was odd that the people paying a premium for those royal suites on deck 12 didn't have complete privacy from plebs like me looking down on part of their veranda from deck 13.
