Disney Dream August 7, 2011

1 week til we're on the ship!

File under kids say the darndest things... we're talking about how the girls should start packing so we know if the suitcases are big enough in case they need to borrow one of mine... older niece asks me if there is at least a 95% chance that we will be swimming at all. We're going on a cruise. With 2 beach days. And I'd told them we're swimming with dolphins. :rotfl:

This is when you tell her that the plan was actually for her sister to do all the swimming while she stands right next to the water and watches :)

Let me just state for the record that DH and I went out yesterday to do some pre-vacation shopping, the centerpiece of which was a new suit for him to wear on semi-formal night and at Remy. If my predictions are correct about said suit once we pick it up on Monday from being tailored...it's gonna be a VERY happy anniversary!

LOL!
Well, when the younger one was getting concerned if we'd be swimming with dolphins in the open ocean with sharks, I told her that if they weren't good, I'd sign them up for the "swimming with sharks" excursion instead of "swimming with dolphins" ;)

So.... I was getting my FE stuff together and all I can say is thank goodness we are flying southwest where I can check 2 bags for free!

Also... packing with 2 kittens around? Quite challenging.

Hello from Animal Kingdom! We have been here since yesterday morning, and the parks are pretty empty compared to what we experienced last year at this time! MK was great last night, no lines for the rides, and epcot was the same today! We are enjoying this a lot! Gives us more time for swimming, and enjoying the resort! Heading to the outlet mall tomorrow for some much needed shopping therapy! Then back to MK for dinner at Tonys, and Wishes, my favorite! One week and we are on the Dream, can't wait!!!

I know whatr you mean about the Fish Extender stuff, mine takes up half of a suitcase! It is also a good thing that we have 4 of us flying on Southwest!

Only 5 more days to go for us. It is shaping up to be a busy week here too. I sure it is just going to fly by!

Looking forward to it! Slightly worried about the tropical storm right now. Thinking positive thoughts! I will be there Thursday for a few days at WDW first.

Send some fairy dust this way that the lines stay that way all week! In 24 hours, we will have landed in *sings* Or-laaaan-dooo...

I'm jealous of all of you who are already partying with Mickey! We arrive Friday morning. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!

There will be a storm coming while were on the dream what will we do?!
Its a tropical storm.

Doppler - tropical storm will be long gone by Sunday, so no worries there. Depending on the path it takes, it may make for some extra-rainy weather up near Orlando. Since I have no control over the situation and worrying will not change the weather, I am choosing not to worry. And to bring a poncho. :)

Good idea

Also, does anyone know what the entertainment will be? I love the hypnotist!

We were on the Magic during Hurricane Hilary and the tail end of Katrina. The boat does just fine. They do chase you off the top deck, but not before you get some really cool movies. The closet doors wouldn't stay shut, and the WD Theatre had serious curtain sway. Watching the waves from the lower decks was truly amazing.

Does anyone else start to feel pre-travel blahs about a week before a long planned vacation..?

It just feels like I've been planning this forever and building it up in my mind... and now part of me is worried that it won't live up to "all that". Especially since I am taking my nieces and I really want them to have an awesome time... and also enjoy spending some time together with me.

I'm sure that by the end of next week I'll get back to excited mode... Just right now, I am feeling all sorts of anxiety and perhaps some letdown.

The only time I get seriously depressed is when is disembark from the DCL cruise...the only way I can prevent it is to book onboard.......don't worry no letdown is coming this time!!!:lovestruc

Sooo jealous of all of you that are there already! Have Fun!!! I am praying for good weather, too. Please pray that our flight runs smoothly, we fly in the morning of the cruise. BLEH! I bought extra Bonine in case of too much motion, so now that I am prepared we wont need it!;) Today will be my last day of work for 2 weeks, YAY:cool1:. Then I have to work a few days then DH and I go to Texas to see my brother for the first time! Yes, I know that sounds crazy but it is true. I am very excited about that.

The cruisers that sail right before us are boarding today. So that means when they disembark/debark...we get to embark:banana::banana:

I hear ya... no depression will happen here either:)

I just learned that because were platinum we get to get on first boarding!

Looks like our cruise itself should be fine. The day we board could be pretty windy if I'm looking at the projections right.
Can't wait!

We leave early Thursday morning.......working on the FEs now!! woohooo:cool1:

The storm track takes Emily close to the port area on Sunday morning!! Let's all hope they get the boat back to PC so that we can get on!! A few years ago we were on the Wonder and had to return to Ft. Lauderdale because of a Tropical Storm. Disney then bused us up to PC and bused the new group of passengers to Ft. Lauderdale. That wouldn't happen twice to the same family, right??? Hope Emily clears on out of there or turns more east!! Only 5more days!!! :yay:

Anything could happen. When I cruised Princess many years ago, the ship that was disembarking the day I was supposed to get on was delayed due to a Hurricane. It got to port a few hours late, had broken windows, etc., so we didn't board until 7 p.m. that night. Long day in the terminal. Thinking positively here.
