Disney Dream Adult Pool area

We got off of the ship on 6-26. It was only jammed on our day at sea. The other days it was busy but fun. Yes, it is too small, but I wouldn't cancel a cruise over it.

There are plenty of chairs now in the area. An earlier poster said that there were only 8 loungers. There are now 16 loungers on both sides of the pool for a total of 32. Also, I saw a few people who requested to have loungers brought down from the deck above. Add that to the sitting areas and the comfy round chairs, the seating seemed ok. Yes, it would be nice if everyone had a lounge chair poolside, but let's face it anywhere you go, there will never be as many prime seats as there are people who might actually sit in them.

Check out this link to our pics not all of them are up yet, so stop by and enjoy some more later. This link will take you to the approximate page. You might have to look a page or 2 before or behind it.

You'll see that the lounger row now has a row behind it on the one side and then if you look really hard, you'll see by the bar the same thing.

Of course we missed you all!! I haven't done my trip report yet because I want to wait until all of the pictures are up and I remember how to post in the report!:upsidedow

Would you believe that our tablemate's name was Jill and her dh got picked to do the Elvis impression (well it ended up being John Travolta) and we won the Disney Quest....you know me, I'm not very competitive!!:rolleyes1

No way really! That is such a coincidence! So did you like the Dream better than the Magic and what's your take on the adult pool, too small? Did Andrew go on this one with you?

Definately puts a stop to this type of shenanigans!

Did the CM's allow jumping & diving in the adult pool? I'm surprised. Considering the ship moves, diving or jumping in could be dangerous.

DW thinks it was the EB Repo & thought that we were probably at the other end of the pool when these pictures were taken!:rotfl2: No One got hurt that we know of and the CM's did not try to stop it untill someone put a serious dent in the bottom of the pool!

They did however confiscate 1 of my pool nurf footballs after a game of catch got out of hand!:scared1::sad1:

There is a lot of shaded area to sit and relax and many lounge chairs with cushoins above. The Donald pool was very scary on sea day-I doubt one more person could have squeezed into it. The pool size is the one drawback I see on DCL compared to the RC cruises we have done, but not enough to make me not cruise Disney. I get up early, so i can use the pool before the crowd and then try to do whatever activities are offered in the afternoon to avoid not being able to get a spot. We were in a suite on the Dream so were able to use the concierge sundeck, but would love to see a hot tub or something there to cool off- although they do have a mister in the one area.

Give the wife a Mickey Bar! That's when it was.

Good Times Good Times! That still rates as our best cruise!:thumbsup2

Its funny because 2 of the people in the pool (Pic) are now good friends of ours & we did not meet them untill the Baltic & Barcelona Repo last summer & 2 years before that we were all in the same place & time! ::yes:: kind of scary!:scared1:

Maybe it's a stupid question but where do you leave your KTTW card and the Wavephone?
Can you just place them on your chair and than go for a swim?

I was on the dream 6/21 cruise and I must admit that on the sea day the pools were wall to wall people. Frankly I avoid the pools on sea days and try out some of the other activities onboard. One of the reasons i don't do 3 or 4 day cruises is that i expect the pools to be packed on sea days. With a five day, you get an extra day at castaway cay. I didn't get off the boat that first day and found that there was plenty of room at all the pools as well as no line for the aquaduck.

It's true!!

As for the pool size, they could have used the space better. Instead of the curve, bring it out and make it rectangle. Perhaps moving the Cove Cafe somewhere else and making it larger would be better.

They could have also moved the bar back a bit. The chairs and tables there were used but not alot. You felt like you were put in a corner if you were behind the bar there.

Was I disappointed? No not really. I got in a few times here and there. We did a wine tasting at some point that afternoon. I loved sitting in the shade doing puzzles, eating my afternoon turkey on ciabatta bread.

It was our best cruise too!!!

That's the first thing we noticed when we got on the Dream, was how small the pool was compared to the Wonder. Can't imagine how it would be on sea days!

DH & I were on the Wonder in Feb 2010 and the adult pool and hot tub were pretty much empty most of the trip. And we never had a problem finding charis right by the pool. I remember thinking "where are all the grown-ups?"

We are cruising on the Dream in September, so it will be interesting to see if we experience a big change. :confused3

I am pretty bummed about the 8 charis by the pool. But maybe the treck down from the upper deck will make me feel less guilty about all the food I'm going to eat! :rotfl:

I was laughing when I saw this picture, thinking the same thing... I know these people. I think we were sitting next to you at the other end of the pool. That was the repo. What a great group of people aroung that pool every day. Surprised that wasn't Pikey getting thrown in. I don't remember them dunking any of the female CM's.

I am one of those adults that would rather watch the movies than sit at the adult pool. I think it is because I have a small attention span.:lmao:

Definitely take the steps....it's always better going down! :lmao:

There are NOT only 8 chairs by the pool!!! There were 32 lounge chairs plus about 20 other seats.

I don't believe Pikey was on that cruise.
