Disney dream - 01-30-11

I just called and was told (and I made her check with the supervisor) that since we were a prior ressie (and maybe because we've paid in full??) that it could not be applied. But they hadn't given me my disney visa OBC so at least I got them to add that!

I'm sorry, that's wierd, the article doesn't say anything about prior reservations but of course that's not from Disney. I was told on the phone she was applying the OBC but it hasn't shown up on my reservation yet. I tried another reservation and it doesn't show up even if I enter the code so maybe the system isn't even ready for these yet. Maybe wait til tomorrow and call back and mention that you saw the offer on the DIS boards, that's what I did, maybe it makes a difference. I'll keep you posted if I find out anything about whether mine actually went through.

Yes, I'm a 6B. I have to call again because my Disney Visa OBC hasn't shown up yet.

they wouldn't let me have the Disney Visa credit of $50 as I booked the 1/30 cruise while on board another cruise. Is everyone else understanding the same thing that you can't have the on-board booking OBC and the Disney Visa OBC?

You're right, you can only have one or the other and booking on board is a much higher OBC than Disney Visa. Don't be concerned about it not showing up on your online account, it never does, but if you're worried you can call and ask.

so this stinks..last night i broke my wrist and now im worried that ill be in a cast for my honeymoon. please tell me there are lots of non water related things to do on a cruise that arent water related

Oh man...sorry to hear about your wrist! :( I wouldn't worry a bit...there are tons of things to do on a cruise that aren't water related! :thumbsup2 I would totally try the Aquaduck regardless...put a bag on it and take at least one ride! :cool1:
This is a quiet group for sure! Does anyone want to meet in the middle of the ship at the pools at 3pm? Anyone want bracelets? :confused3
Here's one of the things my wife always does for us and I look forward to it on each cruise! What a great way to be greeted when you open the door to your room!!

The meet and greet and bracelets sound great! I need to check into this OBC. Anymore news on this? I don't think I ever saw the $25 OBC on my reservation.

I called (thanks ljm23) and got the $100 OBC added to my reservation. I noticed the price went down on my category as well but was told that since I'm in the cancellation period, I would have to pay the cancellation fee ($600)to rebook at the lower rate. So I declined that.

Great, glad someone else was able to get the OBC!
On the bracelets, for anyone interested, you can let me know how many you want and PM me your address and you can pay via paypal or I can PM you our address to send a check. My paypal is ljm723@gmail.com. $2 each bracelet and $1 to cover postage (no matter how many bracelets). Sound good? Nice way to be able to recognize folks from the forum when we get to the port and on the ship.

:hug:Bummer! I am so sorry. Just read your personal navigator. It will tell you everything that is going on. DCL is pretty good about keeping the adults entertained.

Hi all...

I'm considering doing this cruise as a solo (and a senior also) and am wondering what the demographics on this cruise might be?
I don't usually mind being alone, but I 'd feel better if I knew that I wasn't the only one!....does DCL have enough activities for someone on her own?

Any opinions or suggestions for me to figure out if I can be brave enough to do this on my own?

Thanks!

I am not a solo, but a veteran Disney Cruiser. There are lots of fun things to do. There are crafts classes, spa classes(learn about health and nutrition), exercise classes, walking groups, decorating classes(ie, ice sculpture, fruit and veggie carvings), mixology classes, BINGO for prizes and money, Navigator Series-tour and teachings of all of the interworkings of the ship, shuffleboard tournaments. This is not to mention the incredible shows, deck lounging, spa treatments, comedy shows...hey...it goes on and on. We always run out of time trying to fit it in. I say "go for it"!:woohoo:

Hey all....just checking in....getting excited about this cruise!!! I still need to fill out the paperwork for both the MV and this one....but that is a happy chore!!!

There are plenty of non water activities onboard....go for it!! Sorry to hear about your wrist!!

ljm23...I would love two bracelets....I don't do paypall so I will PM you my address and vice versa for I can send you a check.

If not, here's something to think about . . .

So, is no one interested in a FE? I'd do it with even only one other person, if anyone wants to, but if not that's fine.

Sounds great. Thanks for doing this.
Yes, I was glad I got the extra OBC. That was great.

Hi
My husband and I and our two sons, 2 and 4, will be on our very first cruise!
We're from North Carolina and my older son has been literaly sleeping with the Disney cruise booklet ever since we brought it home.

We're big planners (I've been planning our kids' first trip to Disney ever since I found out I was having a baby) so it was very surprising when my husband said, out of the blue," let's take a cruise!" Three days later and we have reservations on the Dream.

There seems to be a lot of very nice and helpful people on these DIS forums...
