Remember this survey?

Today we got our "Mystery Gift" for completing and mailing the survey!! Any guesses?

I hope Grumpy gets the job.

Poor Anakin. I am sure once those antibiotics kick in he'll be as good as new.

I spy with my two eyes a new ticker!!:dance3:

I am terrible with surprises!! What did you get?

Yes! A new ticker!

As for the surprise...when we mailed it in, we took guesses at what it could be. Grumpy's guess was a certificate of completion. Goofy's guess was a pin or some other small trinket. I was thinking some kind of picture print, maybe a character. But no...it wasn't any of that...:rolleyes1:thumbsup2

I was guessing a pin. Hmm lanyards for the whole family?

We were happily surprised to open a legal sized envelope today to find a thank you letter and a Disney gift card!!!

Since we missed fishing on check in day, we headed there first thing the next day. Notice I say the next day, because my guys do not move very fast in the morning. I am the only early bird. They are all night owls.

So we got in the car...yes I said car, rofl. And we drove over to POR. Headed over to the fishing hole and the last thing on our mind was peanuts. Most people don't think of peanuts when they think of fishing. Maybe peanuts at a baseball game, but fishing?! Yes, peanuts are involved in Disney fishing, as you will soon see.

Yes, there are peanuts in the worms. Would have never dreamed it. So Grumpy fished with hotdogs and Anakin with worms. But did Anakin really fish. NO! He did not fish. He was much more interested in the sink to wash your hands.

Grumpy is quite the fisherman. At least USUALLY he is quite the fisherman. It was hard to steady the camera as we were laughing so hard when he caught his big catch of the day.

Heading back out to the car we stopped at the Christmas tree for pictures.

We ate lunch off property at the TGI Fridays at Cross Roads. Then checked out another college campus.

There was a surprise waiting for us in the room when we returned. Some towel animals.

2011-12-09-12096.jpg

It took us almost a half an hour to notice this one.

2011-12-09-12105.jpg

Then we were off to Epcot. The plan was to meet friends for the candlelight processional. We would get in line as the first show started so we could see the 2nd show. "Doogie Howser" was the narrator.

When we were walking by China we could see the line for the show. It was the longest I had ever seen that line. We were greeted by a very nice cm who told us that this was the line for the 9pm show. She asked how many in our party. She said that as long as one person stayed in line the rest were free to walk around and join us closer to show time. So I planted myself in line and the rest were going to walk around. Then next thing I know, we ditched the idea and we all headed to Test Track.

After TT we were kind of hungry, but still full from Fridays. We headed back to the American pavillion for a pumpkin funnel cake. Everyone went to the restaurant and got food or snacks there. I was the only one who wanted funnel cake, until I brought it back to the table. Then everyone was intersted in trying it. There were 8 of us total. Goofy and Grumpy got chile, Anakin got a kid's meal, and I joined them with my funnel cake.

It was the perfect way to end a fun day.

Headed back to POFQ. Plans for the next day? What else? Fish...

Wow now that is a big funnel cake!!

The chili looks good. May I hazard a guess that Anakin's kid meal was chicken nuggets?:rotfl:

Seriously!!! You are psychic!!! At both Fridays AND Epcot.

The funnel cake was plenty big enough for me to have my fill plus everyone else had a good sized piece too.

It looks like it. Is it me or are the Disney portions getting bigger?

That's awesome that you got a GC for completing the survey!

Your boys look so precious with the tree! The towel animals are adorable! And grats on a new ticker! WOOT! :goodvibes

This was the pumpkin spice funnel cake. It was $7.

The school bread at Norway got smaller. My dh's coleslaw at the Columbia Harbour house was rediculously small last weekend. We laughed at how small the portion size was.

Guess it just depends what food and where.

I'm not a big eater. I eat all day, but small portions throughout. So the big portions get wasted on me.

We ate at the Cheesecake Factory recently. I got a Margarheta flat bread off their small bites menu and I was filled with that. One bite of someone's cheesecake and I was good to go!

yay on getting a GC! and two more trips planned :woohoo:

love the "fish" Grumpy caught!

your towel animals are really cute!

that funnel cake is huge - would be way to much for me too!

I guess it is where you eat in the parks. I have been looking at what I call the food porn on the DLR side and some of the places have some huge servings.

Yes! We are very pleased with the GC!

It was such a chore to get them to pose for a picture. Seems it never fails when one is smiling nicely the other is acting goofy. It's so hard to get them both smiling at the same time. They can both get silly.

The Feb trip is a quicky. It's been planned since Oct. It's a 2 nighter. Happily got a passholder discount for that too. I think it was around $53/night!

The May trip was still more than I like to pay. $128 for weeknight and $146 for weekend night. But it is still less than we paid last May. I found an old receipt from years ago for CSR, this passholder rate is way less than we paid back then.

As long as Disney doesn't start doing what the icecream companies and soda companies have been doing. Charging the same price as usual, but changing portion size smaller. At least with the school bread, they tried to do this. But with the complaints they lowered the price a bit. The old bread was bigger and made fresh. The new bread is smaller and not made there fresh, I think it's contracted in.

Or my personal favorite raise the price and lower the portion.

how cool about the gc! :woohoo:

Love the pics of the boys. They look so happy in front of that tree.

The pumpkin funnel cake reference made me actually scoff out loud. I could not find things like that while were were there. A year of planning and you would have thought I would be better prepared...sadly.. no pumpkin funnel cake for me. :sad2:

Did you have much luck at the other college campus?

Sad state of the economy.

I am going to miss that funnel cake. I wonder if they have seasonal funnel cakes the rest of the year. I learned about them on MickeyNikki's live TR. Bummer you didn't see them.

We didn't have luck that day. But he and my dh went on a tour another dayand they really liked it. He applied and was accepted. Still applying to a few more.
