Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

I think it is cool that Grumpy wants to be a chef...

He either wants to be a chef, marine biologist, or something to do with the fish and wildlife comission. He is looking at culinary schools and schools for environmental science and marine biology.

Cooking relaxes him and fish are his passion and hobby.

Tomorrow he is going to shadow an executive chef.

Such fun pictures... makes me so excited! However, also makes me feel a bit like I am sneaking a peak at my gift before Christmas. :rotfl:

That is exactly what I thought too...like it was almost forbidden and I was doing something naughty...you do know that :santa: is watching us!

Do I see coal in your future?

Speaking of coal, Anakin wants coal for Christmas.

Why?

Because he wants a train, and he will put the coal in the train.

I'm sure you can imagine the fun we are having explaining how kid's trains do not run on coal.

That sounds like the conversations we have with Grace. The way her brain works is certainly "interesting" sometimes.

Grace is such a sweetie!

She's a character sometimes. Thsi morning as we were driving, she was telling me that some people already had their shingles up. It took a while, but I finally figured out that she was talking about the Christmas lights. Shingles are on the roof. Christmas lights are hung at the edge of the roof, so they must be the same thing--at least according to "Gracie logic" they are.

Coal...that is for being naughty...yep, peeking in my present every day dreaming of the time we finally get there...but then all this planning fun will be over! :sad2:

I'm waiting to get a sneak peek at my Christmas Present...
But don't tell Santa :santa::rotfl:

I am back. I haven't started laundry or unpacking. Got home late afternoon and had to do school with Anakin, then supper. I need to upload pics too. Maybe tonight. Also, haven't posted any of our Legoland pics from the last 2 Thursdays.

I will say this, WDW was WAY MORE CROWDED than we had anticipated! Friday was very cold except for a few hours in the afternoon where it was perfect from the sun.

We didn't go to any parks on Friday, Saturday we went to AK and it was so crowded. Decided to give it another go on Sunday and it was half as crowded! Monday we went to DHS.

I took pics of so many Christmas trees. I should just post them randomly in a thread and make it a scavenger hunt.

Welcome home!

Sorry that you ran into some cold weather and icky crowds. Can't wait to see pics! I'm anxious to see the trees!!! :yay:

I was up and ready to go by 7am. My boys...not so ready. It’s always a challenge getting them on MY time when they are night owls and I’m a morning person. I don’t remember what time it was when we finally left home, but we didn’t get to WDW until around lunch time and we were all starved! Check-in went smoothly. Both online check-in and the regular lines were small. There were plenty of CM.

The cm who checked me in had me out of there in less than 5 minutes!! Much to my surprise we got my request. First floor in the 70’s building. We were placed in building 10, room 113. This request is mostly for Grumpy. It puts him near his fishing spot. Dh swears we stayed in this room before, but none of the rest of us remembered. We have been in the 70’ building at least 5 different stays. It is about half way between the Hippy Dippy Pool and the Computer Pool. There isn’t much foot traffic, so it’s a nice quiet area.

Our first trip to POP we were in the 80’s building. We were in a great location. One of the closest rooms to the buses and the food court, playground, and car parking was right there too. But so was all the foot traffic. It was a very noisy location, people talking, suitcases rolling, etc. We decided that trip we loved POP but would find a quieter location for future stays.

The first new thing I noticed at POP was the bi-folder given at check in. This was half the size of the “usual” one. Inside was the Activity Schedule, the rooms keys, map and info guide of resort, WDW info brochure, our parking pass, and Park times guide.

We were the closest room in the 70’s building to the Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. If you look for the sign that says building 10, our room was right at that sign. Corner room!

great location! yep the folder is different from the one we got in March, maybe they are trying to conserve some paper!

Going from CSR last month to POP this month, the differences in the size of the room and the size of the beds were very noticable. Grumpy played a Little Bear saying this bed is too small. *Eye roll* He is one person in the bed. We needed to try to fit 3 in the other. We need to get a small air mattress!! He got over it quickly. The mattresses at POP are very comfortable! More so than the ones at CSR.

Differences between POP and CSR:

1. Smaller square footage at POP
2. Double bed at POP vs Queen size bed at CSR
3. No large ledge in the back of the bathtub
4. Only 1 mirror, the one at the sink. CSR had a nice size mirror at the desk too. Helped getting ready in the mornings.
5. POP had 3 hooks on the back of the bathroom door. Our room at CSR only had 1.
6. There was much more room between the bed closest to the bathroom and the wall at POP, very little room between them at CSR.
7. More comfortable mattress at POP
8. No refrigerator at POP
9. At POP you get 1 bottle of shampoo/conditioner combination, a face soap and a bath soap. At CSR you get 1 bottle of shampoo, 1 bottle of conditioner, 1 bottle of lotion, and the same face soap and bath soap.
10. The partition between bedroom and vanity at POP is a curtain, at CSR it's two wooden sliding doors.

The cm said they switched to this folder about two weeks prior. He said that POP is the first to use them, but it's suppose to go resort wide soon.

I love the breakdown and the pics. When we stayed at Pop last trip we had a refurbished room (they are all now refurbed, right?) I noticed the beds were really comfy compared to POR. The size wasn't too bad since it was just girls... and the space seemed better than POR too.

Wow 5 rooms, sounds like tons of fun! I love the 70's! Were you in preferred or standard 70's? What do you like best about the 60's?
