Disney Dollars?

We will be at POP in ONE WEEK!!!!

This week to help keep the house tidy and me sane I have made a schedule for my kids - if they complete the tasks they can earn Disney Dollars - only one problem - I am not sure where I get the dollars at DisneyWorld.

Has anyone ever done this? Where can the dollars be found?

Last year I got mine at the Disney store before we went.
We leave on the 6th of FEb...that is a very good idea!!

If you can't make it to the Disney store before you go, you can get them at Pop. The Disney store will let you use a credit card to buy them. At Pop, they told me they would exchange cash for them and then a manager okayed letting me charge $50 for them. So if you wait to do it at WDW, make sure you have cash on you.

I got some from the Disney Store before we left last year and I was able to get some more at CBR when we got there. This year each of my kids exchange some of their Xmas money for Disney dollars just for the trip.

Thanks again - I mentioned the Disney Store to my husband - he remembers them asking if we needed disney dollars last time we were there. If we buy them in Canada do they just do a conversion based on the days rate or exchange?

I would really like to kids to have the dollars before we go - they are already checking away on the sheet I made up and posted on the fridge. My daughter is highly motivated by money - already done bed, piano, homework and it isn't even lunch on a saturday! I may be on to something!

I'm not sure about the exchange rate issue. You might want to post of the Canadian Board area. Someone else from Canada may be able to answer your questions better - or just call the Disney Store directly. I found the Disney Dollars a great motivator as well. My two kids have cleaned their rooms everyday, done their homeworking without any reminders, already laid out their clothing, tried everything on, checked for stains/tears etc., neatly folded everything and are ready to pack....we still have almost two weeks and they have been so helpful getting ready this time.

Last year was a surprise trip so I had to do it all myself.......

My daughter has a blank check register that we "deposit" the disney dollars in writing, then when we get to WDW she cashed them in at the bank on main street. We don't have a disney store anywhere near here and this works great for us. It also allows mom and dad to put together the funds to pay for it all!!!

I just called the Disney store in B.C. last night and they said they didn't have any Disney Dollars or know what they were. Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

The Disney store in Syracuse has been in short supply of Disney Dollars since before Christmas. It may be due to the fact that Disney doesn't own them anymore and the Children's Place does. We also had a small problem getting the tickets we wanted and ordered them on line from Disney direct.

You are also able to get Disney Dollars at any guest relations booth at any park at DisneyWorld. We have bought them at MK, MGM, and DD without any problems.
