Disney Dollars?

Can you still get Disney Dollars? I homeschool and we're doing a WDW unit and a countdown to our trip. Thought earning Disney Dollars would be a great incentive and lots of fun. THANKS!

Disney Dollars have been discontinued but you can still buy them on ebay.

When I was there in June I got them at City Hall in the Magic Kingdom, I believe the only place you can purchase them is in Disney or online through disney, you can no longer purchase them at Disney Stores. When I did purchase them the cm in Disney wasn't sure when or if they were going to be discontinued. Its worth giving them a call. Hope this helps.

If you are unable to get Disney dollars for any reason I thought I would share with you what I did.

As an incentive for my kids for our Dec 2007 trip I made my own Disney Dollars for the kids to earn, I made them in business card size, added some creative Disney clip art to the different $$ amount, I went from 50 cents up to $5. I signed them with character signatures and as the kids earned them they had a Disney envelope to keep them in. The kids had an option, turn them into me and I would purchase real Disney Dollars once we arrived at WDW or give them greenbacks. My kids were older (late teens) yet they really got on board and had fun with it.

Of course I had to save as they earned, but it worked out for us. We have no local Disney stores so even at that time purchasing them was hard

I made a cardboard poster with chores or school incentives listed the amount they could earn and hung the poster in our kitchen area.

You can also purchase them at the resorts. We were there at the end of June and my dad bought them as a present for my DSs.

I just spoke with Disney Ticketing (407-566-4985) about this. Here's the lowdown:
-You can buy them at all of the parks.
-You can order them over the phone with a credit card at the number listed above. There is a maximum of $50 that can be ordered over the phone, and you also have to pay a $15 express mail fee.
-You can pay by check and order them by mail at the address listed below. There is a maximum of $650 when ordering this way. You also have to pay the $15 express mail fee. When ordering by mail, include a letter with all of your pertinent shipping address information as well as a list of the quantity of each denomination that you would like. The dollars come in $1, $5, and $10 amounts.

Wow the $15 fee is off putting for me, glad we can still get them at the resorts and parks.
