Disney Dollars

I'm getting ready to go to our local Disney Store to pick up $350 in Disney Dollars for our August trip. Before I switch the cash for D$, I want to be sure I can still use them at all of the WDW restaurants and shops. Anyone used them lately? I know, I'm just being silly, right? I mean, it says right on the ones I bought before that they can be used at WDW.

We pay for our trips with cash. Own DVC for our rooms, all other expenses are cash. The best way for me to make sure I have all the "spending money" I want for WDW is to use Disney Dollars. Can't spend that money anywhere else! So, I switch cash for Disney Dollars each payday and it works well for me for saving for our trip. I realize this isn't the best economic plan for my money, no interest earned and such, but it works for me for now. I started out getting them for my kids for their birthdays and Christmas, etc. for their spending money and now that they are grown I do it for myself still.
The last few weeks I haven't been able to get to our local store, so I have the $350 accumulated to take in to switch for the disney dollars.


I've used them many times, even bought lot's of gifts from Character Premiere with them. But I always have this stupid fear that they are going to stop accepting them, especially since Walt Disney Company doesn't own the Disney Stores anymore. I assume they would be like the old park hoppers that NEVER expire.

Don't forget, They also have WDW gift cards that are reloadable if you wanted something easier to carry with you! Disney store sells them too.

When I was there in December, we used Disney $ for meals, souvenirs, and resort room. I think they are good anywhere in WDW.

I used them everywhere on our trip at end of June and the beginning of July.
The Character Premiere took them as well!

Do the stores still sell them? Or are they only selling the gift cards?

I used my Disney Visa rewards to get them and got them all through our local Disney Store.
