I bought some disney dollars for the first time today. My store has the 2001 design which actually sells for more than its face value on ebay. I checked out the designs on ebay. They are so cute and would love to get designs from other years. Any one wants to trade?

I have a question about people selling these on ebay. I am using a couple of reward sites to get disney dollars for movies. I was just recently sent 3 2001 five dollar bills that are in mint condition and the serial numbers are in order (703 704 705). Do people actually buy these on ebay? Is it worth me trying to sell them? Would I be better off saving them? Or should I just spend them as originally planned?

Thanks

I am thinking the same as you jensenba. I have lots of $1, $5, and $10 from 2001. I was saving and going to use them for my trip next August, but I see that on ebay the start bid is $30 for a $10 disney dollar bill. I will keep and eye on it to see what it sells for.

Just picked up $45 on Tuesday. The tens were from 1998 with Minnie Mouse on them and the $5 was 2001 California Adventure with Mickey climbing a mountain.

Hi Lizzydoll73,

Are you interested in trading the 1998 $10 with 2001 $10? I can get you 2001 $1 bill too if you like.

Is there something special about 2001? I read another thread that the DS may stop selling the DD so I went in this am and bought $200 in 10's for our Christmas trip and the manager had to open a new pack so mine are 2001, never used, and all 20 are in sequential order. I don't understand why anyone would pay $30 for a $10 DD.

I just 're-discoverd' some $1 Disney Dollars from 1989 that we brought home from our 1988 trips.

They are all mint in sequence D00749512A thru D00749520A. On the back center is the Castle with the copyright symbol on the lower right followed by 1987 The Walt Disney Company. The front center features Mickey with Scrooge McDuck's signature at treasurer on the left and series 1989 on the right.

I had packed them away and TOTALLY forgotten about them until I was cleaning out some old WDW travel brochures and THERE THEY WERE. Suppose they are worth anything beyond $1.00?

I bought $25 worth of Disney Dollars (all in ones) a couple of weeks ago. They are series 2001.

I noticed something I'd never seen before when I checked the date. There are multicolored spots on the left side that go from top to bottom and through the mickey head silhouette. I just happened to turn the bill right so the light hit them and made them show up. I'm guessing that's the way to determine the bill is not counterfeit. Please tell me I'm not the only one who's never noticed that before...LOL! :D

I just bought some $1s yesterday, they are also the 2001 series. I have more upstairs (I've been buying and saving them for the past year!) that I know are different. I never knew people sold them on eBay?
