Hi,

We are giving our nieces spending money for our Jan trip. I am looking for a nice Disney dollar type thing to print and put in the card (we'll give the equivalent cash to the parents)

Any ideas?

why not buy them gift cards or actual disney dollars?

Probably so they arent just 'tied' to disney in case the kids want something different or dont spend it all, or find a shirt they like at walmart and want to buy it before they leave.. Could be a number of reasons.

Maybe you could get a few one dollar Disney dollars, then give them a little certificate "worth xxx amount" to them as well?

The Disney ones are so so cute! They have ones, fives, and tens that I know of (my kids each got some from St. Nicholas last week, for our trip in 4 days, so they each have $20 for souvenirs).

Or just make a cute certificate?

I understand not wanting to be tied into all Disney, but a few might be fun. Or are they too young to be handling their own money? I know I keep my kids' wallets in my purse usually, as I'm a control freak. I worry they'd misplace it (with an ADHD son that could happen!).

thank you. I cannot get actual disney dollars because we live in Canada and they wouldn't make it here on time. Plus there are shipping costs I don't wanna pay. And I want the kids to spend the money as they wish, so if they find something outside of Disney. Those designs look like fun!

I think that is an awesome idea. I made some that look so Disney (not the real currency however) that DH said Disney might get me if they saw them on publisher. My kids are earning them for different chores and do-goods. Each payday they turn them back in and I exchange them for cash (or coins as of now they are worth 10 cents a piece, I give quite a few) so I don't have to come up with all their money at once. Once we get to the resort, they will have full access to their money and can spend as much as they have on whatever since they earned it. I like the certificate idea so they don't try to spend it at the store...

The "funny munny" on that link is great. Maybe I will give my daughter some of those when she has earned Disney vacation money and then she can cash it in while we are there.
