Disney Dollars Strategy I'm using

Okay, I've been reading these boards but have yet to find an explanation of Disney Dollars. What are they? Why do you purchase them? Are they double the value you pay for them? Please help me understand....I leave in 9 days and would love to get some for my kids. We have rolled all our coins, I was gonna take it to the bank this weekend for cash and split the cash between the kids to spend in WDW for themselves. BUT....if Disney Dollars are better....please tell me!!!

You buy them at the Disney store and they can be used at WDW. They are equal value. Just a fun way to save. Great for gifts for kids to spend on vacation too!

My husband and I save all our change and when we get about $20 collected, we head to the credit union and deposit it into our vacation account. I also go to the Disney Store every payday and purchase $10-$25 in disney dollars to use on our disney vacations. Purchasing the disney dollars is great because I can only use them at disney, so I am forced to save them. Debby
