Disney Dollars ~ pay tax?

I've never bought Disney Dollars at the Disney store before. So maybe one of you can tell me the answer to this question:

When you purchase DD, do you pay sales tax like a regular item? Or is it without tax?

I have a $50 gift card I'd like to use for DD; so I'm wondering if I can buy $50 worth of DD with it, or do I have to get like $47 worth ~plus tax ~ to use the Gift card.

Ask another CM or ask to talk to the manager. You should be able to get Disney Dollars using a DS gift certificate or card (unless it says otherwise on it).

I specificaly asked if you could purchase Disney Dollars with a gift card because I wanted them for Easter gifts and the store was out of them. They told me you could so I purchased my nephew the gift card for that purpose. When my BIL went to purchase a Gift card for me for my birthday to be used for Disney$, he was told you couldn't purchase Disney dollars with it? I'll try it when the store gets them in. By the way when you went last week did the have the new Disney Dollars in?

I checked at my local Disney Store (Bridgewater Commons Mall, NJ), and they are expecting the new Disney Dollars around the middle of May.

I was at the Disney Store at Carasoul Center in Syracuse yesterday and they told me May 5th. I'm not sure anyone knows exactly when to expect them.
