Can Disney Dollars be used on board for purchases. If so are there any restrictions.

Thanks

My step-daughter Catherine had some Disney Dollars and asked the same question. While at WDW she wanted to know if she should save them for the cruise or use them now. I called DCL and they said she couldn't use them on the ship so she spent them at EPCOT instead. We gave her part of our onboard credit to spent while on the cruise.

You can't go into the on board stores but they can be applied against your on board charges. Our kids used them to "buy" things and then I would go to guest services and put them on our shipboard account.

Just to add a little more...yes you can use them at Guest Services, it is very easy to do. We purchase the disney dollars at our local Disney Store before the trip, just makes the bill at the end that much less.

It's kind of nice. We had a $50 onboard credit (Disney Visa), $175 in Disney Dollars (gotten for birthdays and Father's Day, etc...) and $119 in bonus credits from Disney Visa so that gave us a nice little chunk of change to spend onboard. As others have said, you just stop at Guest Services at a non-busy time and they apply them to your account - painless. BTW, be careful and check the onboard credits, we didn't get ours but when we called they checked with Central Reservations who said we should have it and they then applied it. Glad I checked. Have fun!!
