I was at the Magic Kingdom on 6/26/06. We decided to visit Tom Sawyer's island with one of my friends and her children and my family. My friend has ripped tendons in her foot and doesn't get around so well so I told her we could sit on the landing on the other side and play checkers and then ride back with the kids. Well, when we were there for a bit my friend had to go to the bathroom. The raft wasn't there. Both bathrooms at the landing were closed and my friend had to go then. We walked to Aunt Polly's and they said the only other bathrooms were in the fort so she walked there with difficulty. On the way back I walked through the caves and noticed there was a strong odor in them. I couldn't place the smell at first and then realized they smelled like my cat's litter box. Yes, they smelled strongly of urine. I don't know the origin of the odor or if it's connected to the closed bathrooms but I did wonder. Of course the high temperatures were making the stench worse. I contacted Disney with my observations and had a call on my answering machine this evening that said my information had been directed to the proper source. It's nice to know someone cares enough to call and let you know your concerns are being communicated to someone in a position to do something about them.

Well done. It's good to speak up and say something (how can they fix something if they don't know it aint broke? :confused3 ) and it's reassuring to know that your compaints don't go unheard. Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

::yes:: i agree they have a great dept. for complaints. We've always had all of ours answered promptly!! even the many compliments we have had!

It's funny you mention this. I was at Magic Kingdom witha friend a few weeks ago. She noticed that area with all the benches and stairs over by splash was very dirty and messy. and also noticed two custodians walking by and joking not doing anything. so she went and basicaly draged one of them to that spot and complained saying that this was her park and it needs to look nice. They cleaned up the area.

A few years ago I had called or emailed (I don't remember which) to complain when they cut out early entry due to "guest response" (along with 10,000 other Disers I'm sure). Anyway, within a few days, a CM called me to talk with me about the lack of early entry and its replacement...........the characters showing up at the hotels in the morning. She let me say my piece and !voila! early entry was back before I went on my trip. I realized then that they really do at times listen to the collective feedback of their guests and change accordingly (if possible). Now, they have morning AND evening EMH. I think that's great!
