I checked the website yesterday for Cinderella costumes for DD. I was surprised that they still had them in her size so I figured I'd buy her the Deluxe for next Halloween and the regular one for dress-up. I didn't have time to order them yesterday, but noticed they had a free shipping or 20% off code, COOL!
So I go to order them today, and they raised the prices of the costumes by $5.00. I know its not alot, but its the principle. So in reality, you aren't saving anything! Just really ticks me off. I think I'm just going to Toy's R Us to buy DD a cindy dress-up costumes.

roliepolieoliefan,
Do you have a Disney store near you? They already have their BF sale prices out, however, on Friday AM at 5;00 AM everything is going to be an additional 20% off. I was there yesterday and saw costumes for $9.99...on Friday they will be an additional 20%...hope you have a store near you, hope this helps!

Sales end, promotions change - doesn't make the place worthy of being called a HUGE RIP-OFF on a popular disney forum.
You should be upset with yourself for missing out on the deal when it was available. I hope you find what you are looking for at the price you want.

I got the costume for 14.99 and got free shipping. But I woudl rather that than try lugging three kids to the store. So, I was ok with it all. I didnt get the exta 20%, they wouldnt apply it to my order. But, I still got a Disney Cotstume for a little over half off. SO I was happy. I am going to toysRus to grab the wand nd crown, since Disneyshopping was out of it. I go tthe Power Ranger costume and the tinkerbell infant cotume for 9.99. Again, with free shipping.

Well EXCUSE ME, but I disagree! I stated in my original post, that I do have a life outside of ordering from Disney Direct and since my computer is a dinosaur with dial-up, a simple order can take as much as 1/2 hour. Who would have thought that Disney Direct would bring out a "promotion"then raise their prices to compensate for it. Sorry, but these costumes are on clearance. I used to work retail, we never raised items, that were on clearance that we were trying to get rid of, no matter what other kind of promotion came out.

And to JOBIRD, yes, I do have a Disney Store near me, unfortunately all the Cinderella costumes in DD's size are gone. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Stores change the prices all the time, even on clearance. I am sorry you didn't get the deal you expected though.

ROLIEPOLIEOLIEFAN,
It might be worth a phone call to the Disney Store, just to ask if they might have more. I was in mine last week, and they didn't have many costumes out, none of Belle's costume...yesterday, though, they had MILES of Cinderella, Belle, Captain Hook, etc. In ALL sizes too. You never know. :flower: Good Luck.

Why didnt you get the 20% off? Im sure you spent more than the $75 minimum ;)

..I'm having disneyshopping.com problems too and I decided to check the dis to see if anyone else was having problems or had a good customer service number/address for them. I placed an order on Monday and put in for the 20% off.. I thought it went through. I logged in today to find out when my order would get here, and I saw that it didn't take the 20% off!! I called customer service and they refused to credit me back the 20% or give me store credit.. they said it would be considered a price adjustment, even though it was their system that didn't take it off. (uhh.. isn't a price adjustment a courtesy they used to offer for a few days when the price changed *after* you place your order???) They weren't even prepared to answer my questions.. I finally spoke to a supervisor and was told that no one in their facility had the ability to issue anytype of credit, and that I shouldn't bother returning/repurchasing the order, because the shipping I would have to pay to return it would be more than the discount. I asked for a number or address where I could send a complaint. They gave me a phone number for the "presidential line" -- some guy's voicemail, so I left a message. I can't think of any other store online that is so sensitive/difficult.. why can't they just take 20% off of every order over $75? I don't remember their customer service being this bad either, it seems even their management isn't empowered to resolve a basic customer service issue like billing. Where's a little smiley with steam coming out of his ears when you need one? ;-)

op- sorry to hijack your thread.... I would try calling guest services. Please post back here if you do and let us know how it went?

I have always gotten good deals on disneydirect. I recently purchased a child's Captain Jack Sparrow costume before Halloween from disneydirect, for less than it went on clearance for at the Disney Store after Halloween.
