Disney dinning plan menus

We are taking advantage of the free dinning on our upcoming trip. We have never been on the dinning plan. Is the menu different for the sit down meals for the people on the dinning plan or will we be able to choose anything off the menu?

Anything off the menu. There are so few exceptions it's hard to remember all of them. The Kitchen Sink sundae at Beaches & Cream is one.

There is not a different menu for people on free dining or the dining plan, order whatever you want. If there's some rare exclusion your server would let you know.

I think the main exceptions will be the options aimed at 2 people like specialty desert and appetizers. Rather than create different menu's as some meal plan or AI places do, they've simply dumbed down he menu for everyone.

Entrees or desserts designated for 2 can be ordered if 2 adults pool their credits. Same with appetizers although they are available only to those on the DxDDP.

The only place we encountered restrictions was at Via Napoli. Last year the server said if we wanted pizza, only the individual pizzas could be ordered on the dining plan. Also, you could not use 1 credit for 2 people to share the individual pizza.

The non-alcoholic beverage refers to fountain drinks such as coffee, tea, soda, lemonade. Some restaurants will allow milkshakes, smoothies (no refills) and virgin cocktails. The dining plan does not include specialty non-alc beverages.

If there is something on the menu that you are interested in and you aren't sure of ask your server if they don't mention it.

I've read through the brochures and I'm not sure they support your statement nor does my personal experience. The brochures state that specialty drinks are excluded on buffet's but do not address the issue otherwise. I've asked many times and the only place I've been told no was at Pepper Market, which seems to be an enigma in general when it comes to the DP. I've had shakes or smoothies about 6 or 7 different locations otherwise.

We've also gotten shakes, smoothies, virgin cocktails and pressed pot coffee. What I meant was non-alcoholic drinks in souvenir glasses or those with glow cubes or glow characters are not included. Some of the third party restaurants limit the beverages to the fountain drinks and exclude non-alcoholic specialty beverages such as Aqua Fresca, bottled sparkling water, imported sodas and specialty coffees. Just because it is non-alcoholic does not mean it is automatically included.
