The DVC member web site, now says that You can purchase Disney DIning while staying on points. Does anyone know the cost of Disney Dining? And how many days you have to purchase it for.... if you are staying 5 nights, can you only purchase it for 3 days? I find that the current arrangement is way too much food.

$37.99 per day for 10yr+ and $10.99 per day for children
As it states on the first page of the DVC website it must be purchased for all nights of your stay for all members of your party over 2yr old

Prices and rules haven't been published. Others have reported being told by MS and/or at the annual meeting, that the price will be the same. And this makes sense to me. It's also been reported that the minimum stay to get the DP may not be the same 3 day minimum which would surprise me, but we shall see. Still it must be for all nights of your "stay" so I doubt if the min were less than 3 days it'd matter much to most members.

Whoops... I didn't read the details on the main DVC page... we are going in January, so it doesn't help us.... I wish you could purchase it for less days. Oh well.. thanks for the info.

They don't want to you to that, they want you to waste part of it, that's part of how they make money on it. Remember there are other discount options available including DVC, Annual Pass, Disney Dining Experience, Safari Club for rainforest, and a host of off site options.

What if my sister is staying four nights and I am staying for 7, can we do the dining plan, she for her nights and me for mine?

Disney in general tends to be inconsistent. But the way I interpret the rules is if your sister gets the plan, it'd need to be for the entire length of the reservation. And to have her listed and get keys, I think you'd have to get the plan for her as well. What you might do is have 2 separate reservations, one for when she's there and the other for when she's not.

But you should ask, you never know what they will say. I doubt you'll get any help until you actually check in though so you should have a back up plan.

These are the prices. Today is the first day that it can be added to your reservation, but only for travel dates of 4/1/06 and beyond.

The plan can be added when staying at a DVC resort but not when using your points for a Disney Collection stay.

It must be booked prior to arrival with payment taken when you check-in. You cannot add this plan once you've arrived.

If you booked a cash reservation thru Member Services, the Dining plan can be added to it.

Everyone in your party must purchase it for the entire length of stay. Guests of Members can add the dining plan when staying on points. :flower:

We probably will not be doing this unless it was just DH & I staying in a studio.

When we stay with our DD's & extended family we always get a 2BR & use the kitchen facilities for meals - especially breakfast & occasionally a dinner or 2. We also usually order pizza one night.

Wouldn't make a lot of sense for us, considering the cost & the way we do our dining.
