Our DS has recently been diagnosed with a bad dairy (think epi pen) and egg allergy. Looking for anyone who would be willing to share their experiences dining at Disney World with these allergies.

We have done a gluten allergy with our oldest previously, but never dairy or egg. This will be our ds's first trip to Disney, so don't want to ruin it by having an allergy episode.

Disney is one of the best places to eat with an allergy they are so careful. When you get to the host tans for table service or to the person who takes your order at counter service they will have the chef or manager come and talk to you about your child's allergies and what is safe and what is not and how they will make sure he gets a safe meal. I have a few allergies and a good friends little girl has really bad allergies and only a few safe foods and she was able to eat for a week with no reactions.

We also have diary allergy. You should be safe. There are allergy menus now and less is made special order - your allergy meal will be made separately, but they don't do as much off-menu as they did a few years ago. I understand the need to limit special orders, but I also understand my need to have more variety than the same allergy friendly cookie over and over and over again. Read the menus as much as possible before you go. Search DISabilities for the allergy menus/experiences that have been included in posts and make some ADRs where there are dairy-free treats that your son would like. (The Plaza has access to the ice-cream parlor, so a sundae is an option dairy-free; Sanaa has a diary-free (IDK if egg-free, but egg doesn't thicken DF puddings something else is used the thicken so the chances that it's egg free are probably good) tapioca pudding; Jiko has diary-free pana cotta.) Also look up vegan dining posts, since vegan is dairy-free and egg-free - you'll at least know what side-dishes you can have with your meat. Beach Club and AKL have BabyCakes brownie cupcakes in the to-go case. 50s Prime Time used to be a fave as the only place to get dairy-free mashed potatoes and "milk" shakes, but I've read that they stopped that option. Every time I hear about an option for allergies going away, I am sad; but it's probably a cross-contamination safety issue that's required. Have a magical and safe vacation.

My son is also allergic to dairy and egg. He's had anaphylaxis to dairy, and when he was younger he was touch hypersensitive (he'd hive up touching anywhere that dairy had been, like restaurant tables). He luckily outgrew peanut and sesame!

Disney is the best place to vacation for food allergies, especially the table service places (or any counter service other than maybe a few in Epcot World Showcase - but he loves Japanese chicken teriyaki and rice, DH is Korean so DS grew up eating rice all the time, like daily when he was a baby since it was safe). At TS they will bring a chef out to talk to you. CS has ingredient lists, and in the past they would make substitutions for him. At Restaurantasaurus in the AK, they even remembered us from one day to the next! Subbed out a hot dog with no bun for the kids' meal option, and they also will change gloves (saw it on his ticket for his meal "change gloves"). Awesome.

We always did have snacks in the room, and soy milk (now we're doing almond more for him). Garden Grocer has a good selection, but you can also use Amazon Prime Pantry, Amazon Prime Now, or other options (I always had snacks in my carry-on for him, since it's so tough to travel long with allergies - try flying 10 hours or so to Hawaii, when what they sell on the plane in coach isn't safe - ugh).

I am sure you'll be fine!

Disney has been really easy to deal with for allergies, they don't make you feel bad like it is a bother.
Your DS has common Allergies, which should be no problem at all, just add food allergies to your ADRs.
If the check in person doesn't say anything (or ask anything about allergies) just mention it to them when checking in, then they will make a note of it.
If the server doesn't acknowledge that someone in your party has allergies then I mention it again, they will usually send out the Chef so that he/she can make sure of what allergies to avoid in your food.
I have a rare food allergy and I have had no problems with cross contamination while at Disney. Have a Wonderful Trip.

We just traveled with my mom who has food intolerances to gluten, dairy and soy and some others less common. Not as serious as a full on allergy, but the chef came to our table at every meal and they were really great to her. I just want to add not to feel like you have to shy away from the buffets! We did a ton of character meals and the chefs were really amazing to her. Crystal Palace dinner and Cape May dinner and breakfast really went above and beyond. At Crystal Palace they went so far as to cook her flank steak and salmon separately in the back because the preparation didn't work for her and they brought her special allergy free desserts from the back. At the Cape May dinner they brought her so many special plates she couldn't eat it all. They were great too at 1900 Park Fare breakfast bringing her allergy free waffles from the back. I was very impressed. The chefs take every allergy seriously and know the ingredients of every dish, buffet and otherwise. Have a great trip!

remember to list all allergies on all ressies

DS has a bad dairy allergy (contact and ANA), egg, sesame, peanut and tree nut and ate like a king in January with no reactions. He even had an ice cream sundae at plaza inn!! (with rice dream ice cream!) At buffets, food come from the back. We always speak to a chef. Many times enjoy life cookies are the dessert.

Disney is the only place I vacation that I feel like I'm on a vacation because DS can eat and get fun foods.
