Hiya

We have only just booked our trip to wdw for this year, I was hoping someone could help me choose which meals to book and help me find a way to work out when i need to call wdw to book them.

also how much spending money do i need to take, i have bought all my tickets and my bf takes his own money, so what do you think?

I have also just got the mvmp tickets for the 8th december is there an option to eat at crystal palace before this?

here is a link to a ps calculator to help you work out when to call

http://pscalculator.net

as far as choosing what meals to book have a good look at the restaurant boards ot try this site for menus
www.allearsnet.com

i would take about £500 plus a c/card if it was me but you could need more spending money thats hard to judge really ;)

hth :)

Hi,
when I have been I have taken about £500 and mt CC and my partner has done the same, if you want to do loads of other trips you might need more. If you dont want to spend loads of money then dont eat all you meals at the parks restaurents as they can be quite expensive, we usually eat breakfast at the hotel, grab snacks during the day and then eat again at the hotel for dinner where its cheaper, we just eat at the park restuarents every couple of days.

If it's just the 2 of you and you're going for 2 weeks then £500 will probably be enough. We usually allow £100 per day for a family of 4 - this covers food and souvenirs etc. but not clothes shopping!

As for the dining and PS's. What parks are you going to, where are you staying and do you have any particular restaurants in mind?

Hi,

Looks like we will be at WDW at the same time, i was looking at booking mvmcp on the 8th as well, DH birthday.

2 adults and 1 child for a 2 weeks stay we usually take £2000, but come back home with some, planning on doing most of my xmas shopping then.

We are leaving on 3rd dec, staying at ASM, where are you staying and when you travelling out?

We are looking at eating at Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Tony's, Garden Grill, 50s Prime Time, Spoodles on Broadwalk.

We ate here in April, and enjoyed, DD loved Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern, DH loved Spoodles and Tony's.

See Ya in WDW hopefully

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi Anna,

We take about £100 - £125 per day (with today's exchange rates that's loads!) which is for a family of 2 adults and 2 children so I guess you need a lot less than we do ;)

Do you have any idea about which restaurants appeal to you? My favourites (but I have not eaten in all or even most of the WDW restaurants!) are Le Cellier, 'Ohana, Kona Cafe, Chef Mickeys (for a character meal) among others.

Ones that we have not done but want to (because we've heard good reports) are Crystal Palace, Spoodles, Flying Fish, Les Chefs de France, Restaurant Marrakesh. I like to look at the reviews on All Ears (Natalie has posted the address above) to get an idea if it's "my" sort of food or not :)

I don't know about Crystal Palace before MVMCP but we ate at Liberty Tree Tavern before MVMCP last year and it was a nice change to have mashed potatoes rather than fries, LOL

HTH!

Karen

hiya

princess jackson we are staying at the all star movies, flying out from manchester. we got our mvmcp tickets through the mail today very quick service. hey maybe we will bump into each other it would be nice to say hi to someone from here

sevan, we are staying on site, i am hoping to try the grill in the contemporary i hope plus some character meals, i have no clue what places to go to off site, any ideas?

Anna
For off-site dining our favourites this year were Sweet Tomatoes, Chillis and the Outback Steakhouse. Sweet Tomatoes is amazing. A buffet, mainly made up of salads, but also has pasta, fantastic soups, breads, pizzas and......desserts!!! Plenty people in the DIS talk about Chilis........it's pretty infamous here now!!
And the Outback Steakhouse......amazing steaks. A bit pricey for off site dining, but well worth the few extra $$.

On site, Boma's and Cape May Cafe were our favs this year. Great choice of food in both places. And the Zebra Domes.......

For off site restaurants my vote goes to Outback Steakhouse too. I also like Shogun (at one of the hotels on International Drive if you're going that far).

Do you like counter service, sit down, character meals?

With the two of you, I would suggest all three. Do one character breakfast or meal (1900 Fare in GF is very good, as Chef Mickey in Contemporary).

Counter Service - We like Peco's Bill near Splash Mountain and Cosmic Ray's in Tommorowland. MGM, we like the counter near Tower of Terror. AK - we like the Flame BBQ Grill. Epcot - everything there is good - except the dessert place near MouseGears.

Sit down (My personal favorite) - CA Grill and Jiko are relaxing, delicious and adverturous for tastebuds. Great wines lists, as well. We also like Olivia's OKW, Spoodles BWV, Shula's Dolphin, Mexico Epcot, Japan Epcot, Bistro France, Wolfgang Puck DTD.

Try looking up those menus. You may not be disappointed. Let us know what you choose. :goodvibes
