Hi neighbor's, I was just wondering if I missed something over the past couple of months regarding the DDP. My family will be returning home on July 27th for our 10 day stay this time at BoardWalk Villas. I was reading the DDP liturature and I was reading that gratuities are no longer included on your DDP table meals. This is why we purchase the DDP for our returns home.

Our past two trips home the gratuities were included. Does anyone have any feedback.

Thanks in advance
Smitty

Also the appetizer is no longer included with the plan. For my wife and I on our next trip in July as well we will be using the DDE card instead.

Yeah they changed to 2008 DDP to no longer include apps or gratuties. You now have the choice over how much to tip.

Disney changed the DDP for 2008 by taking out the appetizer as well as tips, and decreasing the price by $1. We will continue to get the DDP as it is still beneficial for our family, but many others feel that with these changes the DDP is no longer worth it. I guess it's all a matter of preference and what works for each individual family.

If you are buying the Basic Plan appetizers are no longer included. They are included in the Deluxe plan.

Neither plan includes tips.

The Deluxe plan includes: 3 Meal credits to be redeemed at TS or CS places, no distinction on the credits. It also includes 2 daily snacks and you'll each get a resort refillable mug at check in. $69.99/$19.99

The fees for either plan already include your meal taxes.

As an AP holder you can now buy the DP w/o buying a park ticket. Call Disney for details on this.

The DDE card meals are subject to an 18% automatic tip so the savings is closer to 2% and less you were tipping less than 18% before with the card.

The DP has changed, but it may still be a good deal for your family. If you want to do more Signature meals the Deluxe plan would be worth consideration.

I just calculated tips of $26 for 1A, 1C for 4 buffet meals, no a big deal. In fact its actually just $18 as the DP would have cost us $8 more in 2007. For that little bit of expense I'll carry cash, its under $10 each time.

We used the 'new' DDP for our family trip in January 08. I know many were dissappointed by the changes and it does decrease the value a bit, however we never went hungry and it enabled us to splurge on some great meals we may not have had if we were not on the DDP. We got our money's worth and then some.

Have a great trip!

If your DDP party numbers 6 persons or more, you will be charged an automatic 18% tip on the menu prices of the meal you ordered.
