We Love it Too!!! It's sooo convenient - even with the changes - ok I'm not happy about the tips - but oh well that's the way it is - still costing us much less then OOP. Won't miss the apps since in the real world we don't normally order them on an every day basis anyway. For the past 2yrs we've ended up w/leftover credits somehow or another.

Everyone is saying how helpful the boards are and you learned how to use the DDP... so, where do I find out how to use it the "right way" We are going in Nov and got the plan, already missed out on reservations because we had no clue and now aren't sure if it is worth it... Just curious to find out where on this board I can go to figure it all out?

My dh and i love the dining plan. This is how we use it (for the years not including 2008 since the program is changing).
1. We don't use it for breakfast unless we go to a character meal. We
aren't usually big breakfast eaters
2. We eat at a couple of signature resturants that take 2 points
3. Believe me between the CS and the TS meals you are full all the
time
4. Because we are full all the time we don't use most of our snack
points so the night before we go home I go to Goofys candy shop
in DTD or to our resort kitchen and get mickey mouse rice krispy treats
for my grandkids
5. Make your reservations and write down the confermation # on a 3x5
note card so you can carry it with you easier. I actually use color
3x5 cards and each day gets a different color. I put our itenery and
numbers on them in case I need them.

I am still mad about reservations and the fact that the entire week we are there they are book for everything.

Keep calling Disney Dining back every day, even twice a day to see if there are any cancellations. You may get lucky!

We also loved the DDP! The only "problem" we had was that we couldn't get rid of snacks! Everytime we used one, our receipt would say we had WAY more to use than before! The first few times it happened, we brought it to the attention of the CM. They all said that it was just a glitch in the computers. So we just stopped keeping track and still didn't run out of snack credits! Things like this NEVER happen to us, we're usually the ones whose receipt would show that we owed Disney some snacks! Ahhh the magic of WDW!

No way could everything be booked, so keep trying different resturants and different times. You will most likely find something for each day. If you don't then I wouldn't get the dining plan.
