Disney Dining Plan

what we spent on food last year is about the same as the DDP this trip.
We do not feel we are saving money, just eating at a lot nicer resturants, for example 14 TS meals instead of 2 :cool1:

You could always ask when you are booking in at the resort if you can add it on

Is this possible?? I was under the impression it could only be booked with a holiday.

I thought it was a package room tickets and added DDP. Mine is with my park tickets. We have a lot of TS booked so i will have to suppliment by paying and mabe use the CS for Breakie some days.

I think I may need to swop my holiday to First Choice , they are cheaper anyhow even losing my deposit, however I could change the VH holiday to later in the year! decisions decisions.

I would have added this on with Disney in resort but I rang them and you can only do it as a package at time of booking.

If you do go with first choice, I found them to be excellent. I got the extension number of the guy who did our booking then called him direct when i wanted to add/alter things - which was quite a lot, we added seats together, night before check-in at manchester, park tickets and dining plan, and sanford guest house lounge! Their service was excellent.

The planes were really good too.

Happy booking!

Lynn

Ok This is what we did!

We moved our Virgin Booking to next November then we have plenty time to see if we wanna go again (thats a laugh as we have been around 14 times)

We have rebooked for February with First Choice
Premier seating
Disney Dining plan
Ultimate tickets
Animal Kingdom Lodge Savannah view.

Does this sound ok!

That sounds fab!

We didn't have premier seating but it was still the most legroom (33") I've ever had on a flight and excellent air crew.

Looks very good

We haven't got DDP as we are off-site but I just had a notion about possibly changing our accommadation to CSR so priced it up with Virgin: 2 adults & a child (11) for 21 nights DDP £900!! Plus the extra that you have to pay to buy their passes-I just don't see the saving? We'll probably be less than that eating out.

It only really works out as a saving if you would eat on site normally. Its $40pp and as a rule something like a buffet dinner such as crystal palace is $24, plus say $4 for a coke + gratuity and tax is about $35pp so to me an extra $5 or so for a lunch and a snack is a saving plus as others have said you get to eat in places you wouldnt have otherwise gone to.

If at Disney i do usuallu eat on site as I like the table service resturants and the character meals however we would still pop out down the 192 to Sizzler or Goldern coral as Disney food is expensive, when at Universal i do usually eat in I Drive every night.

As I was able to get free DDP this year its worth it. I had already booked my ADR's in advance and it fits in rather nicely.

Plus when you get to eat at somewhere like Cali Grill (2xTS pp) or Le Cellier and your bill shows $160 and $195 you really know its been worth it! That's well over the 66 pounds (sorry no pound sign on keyboard, will really have to do UK setup instead of US setup!) per day it cost us to buy it.

Ok think i am convinced lol :rotfl: :rotfl:

As it is my honeymoon i wanted to eat in a lot of these places anyway!

Can you do your table service meal as a breakfast - such as chef mickey etc?

Yes, we did chef mickeys, crystal palace, princess breakfast in norway, and CRT - all breakfasts, and you get to walk down main street before the park opens if your reservation is early enough! The breakfast bills came to between $68 and $94 for 3 adults and 1 child - DD was 10 and classed as an adult on the plan.

Its part of a package I have mine free but you at least need ot make a deposit and i think it must be paid in full before you arrive or on arrival. Deposit equals one nights stay.

As we booked ours through first choice, it was paid with the holiday balance, i think 8 weeks before. Not sure about booking it thru disney or dreams, as I think you pay for your room on arrival?
