Disney Dining Plan??

We will be at VWL for 3 nights (coming up soon)! I have been really debating on doing the DDP (i have a DDE already)! I was just wondering how far in advance do you have to add this to your DVC ressie? I don't want to wait to long! Thanks for any help! Also, would love any DVC (with DDE) advise!

My understanding is that you need to add it at least three days prior to arrive. Payment is on arrival.

This question gets varied answers - The CM I spoke with when I made my September ressies said I could call from the airport as long as I called before I got to the check in line at the resort. I think you will be better off calling several days in advance just to be on the safe side. We also have DDE and will use it for those adult drinks that might be purchased and any meals that we don't want to use DDP credits for at TS restaurants or while at AK. We are doing the dining plan for the 10 day trip because 1. it will make it easier to order since we have several groups of people going and eating together and don't want to have to deal with separate checks and 2. it will let us try places and food that we might not otherwise consider. Hopefully with all the walking we won't all come home 10 pounds heavier. We did it for a 1 might stay in April and the TS meal and snacks paid for the plan so the CS meal at the Pepper Market was free. If we had used the DDE card where we ate the TS meal it might have come out a little cheaper because DH wouldn't have had dessert. Hope you have a great trip.

It needs to be added through MS, period. There is no strict lead time required.

I had no problems at all calling MS today, to add on the DDP for our DVC reservation for arrival TOMORROW!! So glad we were able to add it last minute, we had debated a lot about it. We are already at WDW on a seperate reservation (non DVC) and DID NOT do the DDP for this reserv. (tomnorrow we change over to our DVC ressie at a DVC resort)
Hindsight,............... we should have added it to this cash ressie, becasue we have already spent WAY MORE on a daiy basis for meals/snacks/drinks than if we would have pd for the dining plan per day. IT IS WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have the DDE card also use it for drinks and weekends staying with AP discounts. The DDP is well worth it.
