We are going to WDW Sept. 19-28. Last time we were there was fall of 2003. We have 3 children: 9 yo boy, 7 yo girl & will be 22 month old girl.

I am trying to wittle down my dining picks. I currently have to many for number of days.

Here are my choices so far. Please help me say yah or nah to them.

Grand Floridian Cafe - I want to try the chuck burger with lobster and aspargus

Hollywood & Vine- I heard its a good idea for Fantasmic

LeCellier- Is a must for my husband (so this place is not debatable)

Ohana- Sounds like good food

Chef Mickey's
character breakfast or dinner

Crystal Palace
- this would be mostly for the toddler benefit (she LOVES characters , She wouldn't let Red Robin leave our table)

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Princess Character Dinner

Kona Cafe or Capatin Cook's Snack Co. - I want to try that Tonga Toast!

Coral Reef- Looks like a fun place to dine

Chip and Dale Harvest Feast

1900 Park Fare Character Buffet Dinner- We are planning on doing this will some friends

And I'm also open to other suggestions

So because of our flight times we really have 8 days of table service dining but 9 table service credits. So we could either do something that costs 2 credits or do a breakfast also for one day.

We plan on bringing breakfast food with us (ceral and such), so we don't have to have that added expense.

We must have the same taste-- I've only been to WDW once (our first trip was just a few weeks ago) and we ate at most of those places. Most of your suggestions look good. For the F! package, I would try Mama Melrose, though. I've heard a lot of yucky things about the H&V food (I have never eaten there, though-- just read bad reviews). We did eat at Mama Melrose (with the F! package) and it was pretty yummy. The appetizers were great (they include them for the package even if you're on the DDP). My entree was ok (chicken parm), but my DH and my dad both ordered the steak and it was REALLY GOOD! The desserts were SUPER yummy!-- Katie

Welcome to the Dis! Lots of great info here!

You may find getting to/being at a particular place 15 min before your ADR, just to hurry up and wait a bit tedious for 8 days. You may want to consider some of the 2 credit dinner shows, like Hoop De Doo Revue....or even a 2 TS restaurant like California Grill for a great dining experience. I know you are trying to whittle your list down though!!

Here's my 2 cents:

* Is the Chip n Dale thing at Garden Grill....this sounds good, but really is mediocre at best.

* Akershus is EXCELLENT and includes a photo package...the princesses are super friendly and have time for a quick chat...and are good w/boys and shy kids as well. A total value for 1 TS....if the Norwegian food sounds scary, go for breakfast....a late seating will serve as brunch and get you through 'til dinner.

* 1900 Park Fare...read the reviews...food/service/table configuration sound sketchy, characters awesome.

* Chef Mickey ... can be hit or miss, and atmosphere it is a little frantic. I am giving it one more chance this upcoming trip.

* Hollywood and Vine .... are you going for character meal? Your 7 yo & 9 yo may be mortified!! I haven't read good reviews on this one, but haven't tried it either.

* Kona, GF Cafe, Ohana and Le Cellier sound good!

* Crystal Palace...have always had a good meal and good character interaction here....especially love that it is in the park and we don't have to go through bag check again to re-enter park.

Consider where you are going to be and how early your commute will need to start when you decide where you will eat. You may just have to extend your stay!!! Noticed you didn't have anything at AK....there is a Tusker House character buffet breakfast and Yak and Yeti. Teppan Edo at Epcot also sounds intriguing!

I'm not sure I helped much but researching dining is a great way to while away the time until it is time to make ADRs! Happy planning!
