I understnad that your child can share your food, but do they offier the kids milk at the CS or TS?

I am thinking of paying for a plan for our child if they allow it because of drinks and snacks, sides and stuff.

Hi buzzfan!

To 'age' a child to get them the DDP, you have to age them to 3. 3 yo requires a park pass. So you would also need to add a park tickets.

It sounds like you would be better off just purchasing the things you need OOP.

Will they just give a child under 3 a milk/drink at a table service meal???

you would have to pay for it separately, but yes you could get it. Not sure about buffets though, that would be at the discretion of the server.

We went to several buffets with a child under 3 and we never had to pay for drinks or anything else OOP for him....

There will be plenty for you to share with a 1 year old....I brought his cup filled with water or juice when we went to a sit-down meal... I actually had a cup for him where ever we went.

We purchased our son the plan when he was 2 1/2 because he was well aware of what his older brother was getting in the way of snacks, the baby could really eat, and I was tired of ordering food that he could share with me instead of getting what I really wanted... It was well worth the $10 per day to have him and me happy... I knew it would cost more OOP because of the cs meals and snacks...

But I think you will be fine with a 1 year old not getting the plan.

We are taking our DD to WDW for her 1 yr. bday andd using the ddp. Solution? BUFFETS! BUFFETS! BUFFETS! :rotfl2:

Remember also that at many places you an order something like a side oop, if there isn't enough to share. Say your meal comes with a potato and your little one only likes rice; you can just get an extra side of rice. Usually items like this that aren't on the menu are only like a dollar extra.

Some TS places we found didn't charge for an extra beverage - so long as youa ren't ordering the six dollar fruit smoothie or electric blue fizzie drink with the glowing Tinkerbell (but why would you order hose for a one year old anyhow?). Water is also free. I'd be happy to drink water and give the little one 'my' beverage (milk). And if you bring any drinks in the park - just have your soda or whatever after the meal from your own stash.

We have found that the dining plan generally provided plenty of food for sharing. Remember also that our child can eat free at any buffet - so you may want to plan more for buffets than traditional TS places.

Another thing you may want to try is when you do order at QS places - ask the person to sub in an applesauce in place of a side you don't want. Like maybe your breakfast comes with toast and homefries - swap out the greasy homefiries for a side of applesauce or fruit.

I am traveling home now and we did not pay for one drink for our DS who is 15 months. We did Deluxe and hubby and I always got an ice tea or soda, so it's not like he was getting ours. Sometimes it was on as a kids milk w/zero charge, some times it wasn't on at all.

BTW...we did all TS meals, I'm sure CS you'd have to pay. We did use a snack credit for breakfast one am and used one on a milk for him.

We were always asked what we wanted for our then 23 month old to drink, even though he was not on the dining plan. Our first night there, the waiter asked if we wanted cups of milk for the little ones as we were about to leave. We did that at every dinner and never had an issue. And on the nights when we didn't have TS and in the mornings, I went to the gift shop and got a pint of milk for the kids. The Food Court milk was double the price of the gift shop.
