Disney Dining Plan for Children?

We too have all buffets and family style meals planned but 2, Yak and Yeti and LeCellier. I was so tired of seeing my youngest eat the same thing every day last year, basically the same for lunch and dinner. This way he has a variety and can enjoy all of the dessert offerings too instead of a smiple ice cream or jello. he got so upset last year at LeCellier when he couldn't get the smores dessert. So if I have to I will pay OOP for a different dessert or appetizer for him at the other 2 places.
