Disney Dining Plan-First Timer

My husband and I are planning a trip to DW in Nov 09. Our daughter will be 2 yrs old. How does the Disney Dining Plan work for a child under 3? Thanks for your help!!!!!

Children under 3 eat free at Disney unless you order them a separate meal -- they can share yours. So buffets are great with this age group. As a result, they do not have credits on the dining plans.

But when you are making reservations, you have to let them know your toddler will be there ie. they take up a seat.

Thank you for the information-What happens if we do not go to a buffet style restaurant but my husband and I have the dining plan? Is it a problem to buy her a separate meal when we are on the dining plan?

No, you can always buy an extra meal -- Disney would love for you to spend more money! But that would only be if you were eating something you could not share with them or you wanted to buy them something from the childrens' menu eg. mac and cheese

But remember that at the buffet, your child can have their own plate, and you can all choose from either the childrens' or the adults' selections. But I also just like buffet for children that age anyway (yes, jello and mashed potatoes make a great meal). And since your child is little, they might really enjoy the character buffet at Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends.
