I was wondering .. say I go to a CS restaurant for lunch/dinner and get a meal and a dessert and I want to get a side dish .. how do i pay out of pocket for this? Do they bring two separate bills? and also Would I have to give an 18% tip just for a side order???

Did you mean CS or TS? Gratuities are only applicable at TS. Assuming you meant TS: "Yes" and "pretty much". An 18% gratuity is automatically added on for side orders to Dining Plan meals. You could object to that, I suppose, if you thought the service was lacking...

Generally speaking there isn't an included gratuity at counter service. If you meant TS (table service) then yes, you'll get a second bill with just the uncovered items on it and yes, it'll probably have a tip already added to it- it'll be a line item so just make sure when you sign.

If you got into a CS restaurant, there is no tip. You just order what you want and pay cash, card or with your room charge anything extra.

If you go to a TS restaurant and order things in addition to your dining plan option, they will bring a seperate bill for you at the end and it includes the 18% tip. If you're talking about a $5 side dish, the 18% is not much anyways. You are always welcome to dispute the added gratituty with management.

The ONLY time we had extras with the dining plan were beverages. It's tons of food already. We ordered alcohol several times and we split meals and ordered a drink. Many times, if we just ordered an extra glass of tea, our waiter didn't bother ringing it.

Thanks! I did actually actually mean CS. I didn't know that there wasn't any tip on a CS meal. But once again Im giving myself away that I've never been to Disney!! But its good to know about the TS meals. Im sure there will be plenty of food anyway, I just wanted to make sure! So thanks!
