Disney Dining in between the holidays?

Going to the World on the 28th of December, leaving on the 1st (late) but have our room reserved until the 2nd so we don't have to leave early on the 1st. Doing Disney Dining would cost for that extra day.

I know in the past dining prices have increased during holidays. I'm thinking it may be worthwhile to do the dining plan even though we won't be there for dinner on the 1st (or breakfast or lunch on the 2nd). Has anyone else done this - is it worthwhile? I'm thinking that the "extra" day will give us the chance for a two meal character dinner (if I can get a ressie). Thanks for opinions.

I'm not sure what your question is - is it about the price during that time, or just about whether you should do it?

If it is during the seasonal surcharge time (which I assume those dates would be), the DDP also costs more at that time - $46.99 per adult.

I just wasn't clear on exactly what you were asking.

Vicki - thanks for the information. I know I didn't frame my question the best. Didn't know DDP costs more at the same time as well. Since we'll actually be in the parks almost a day less than our entire stay, wasn't sure if it would be worthwhile to pay for "an extra day" but thought since meal prices are higher, it could be worth it.

If you have extra table service credits, you could always go to a signature meal. (2 credits pp, rather than the usual 1 pp.)
