Is this as good a deal as it sounds? From my understanding, I can get this for only $50 with an annual pass and get 20% off meals at just about every restaurant on Disney property. After a couple of Character meals this looks like it would pay for itself :cool1:

Yes! I just joined at the beginning of the year. We took a very short trip in January (only 4 days/3 nights), and I estimate that we've already saved $40 with the membership. By the end of the year if things work out as planned, I think we will have more than made up the cost (I'm guessing that we'll probably save about $100-$150 total). If you eat at a good number of sit-down restaurants on your trip, I think it's totally worth it.

Yes, we bought ours last year and the 1st trip was a 5 day trip and it more than paid for itself in that trip alone. We've been to Disney on 3 other 3/4 day trips and have saved even more since. I would recommend if you plan on eating at "sit down" type resturants alot as we try to do. We find that part of the whole disney experience is the dining.

:earseek:

Just an FYI. Disney has tightened up the issuing of these cards so have your AP number in front of you. (There was a post on the DVC board this week regarding a person who couldn't get a DDE since they don't yet have the AP, but plan to buy one!)

Welcome to the DIS, Mickey's Girl!

I'm going to move this over to the restaurant board. You'll get a better response there.

I just ordered my APs and got the reservation number for buying them, they would not even accept that number to give me the DDE card, I need to have an activated card to get it, and I cannot activate it until I get there. It is a little bit frustrating.....
The woman that I spoke to was very nice and mentionned that she would fax it to my resort once we get there, I just would feel better having it right now.....

I just received my email that we are now members of the DDE, but there is no listing of resturants. Could someone please post them. Thanks

Here you go! But you'll also receive the list when your cards come.

This may be a silly question but i am assuming that if you are with somone that has an AP and gets the DDE card that everyone at the table gets the discount not just the person with the card?

Everyone on the same check - up to 10 people total.

Can you buy the DDE card at your disney resort (AKL)? I am not buying my AP until I get to the airport. Can you get the DDE there or the resort?

thanks.

No you have to call the number to receive it. There isn't any place on property to purchase it.

So what is the process for getting this if you have not activated your AP yet?
We purchased our APs but we are not going until July.

Activate your AP voucher, then call and order your DDE card. They can fax your "letter" to your resort so that you can use the discount without actually having the card.

Is it a yearly membership, or once you pay the initial price no yearly fees? Thanks.

It is an annual DDE membership, Sleuth.

Thanks, Chuck. I wasn't real clear on that... But then again it would have been a VERY VERY good deal if it was a one time fee, LOL. (Too good to be true.)

I am a FL Res and had to give them a # off my AP voucher that I bought in December. :wave2:
