Disney Dining Experience vs. AP discount???

I thought that there was a 20% discount on dining at WDW if you had an annual pass. Since I do not have an annual pass, I am uncertain. If this is the case, why would you need a DDE? If there is not a 20% discount, is the DDE worth the $55 if only going to WDW for four days (myself & my 9-yr-old DD).

Any answers or advice on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

There's no 20% AP dining discount. There's a 10% discount at selected restaurants at certain times -- Epcot World Showcase lunches, some resort places, Downtown Disney. I think there might be a 20% discount on the late Hoop Dee Doo show.
