Hi all ...

We have recently returned from the world and made the most of the WONDERFUL DDE card! We managed to get two big trips out of it (last year and this year). Anyway ... I haven't heard much more about it and was hoping it was still available. I'm honestly afraid that it's such a good deal it will disappear. For the those of you unfamiliar, for about $50 ... you get the card which is good for a year. It gives you 20% off virtually every eatery in the "World" ... even special character meals ... you name it.
It really worked well for us ...
Anyone know if they still can be purchased?

Thanks!

We just got ours for our trip 2 weeks ago.-

The price went up to $60 now and they charge you for the second card.

We are not real big eaters as far as meals go so the DDP would not work for us .But as we had 2 others with us on this first trip we saved a bunch with the DDE.I have my ADR's for DEC and just booked our next June trip so we will get the use out of it.

Yes, it's still available. They've raised the price and the second card is no longer free, but other than that, it's a good deal. Still only available to Florida residents and AP holders.

If you qualify, it's a great alternative to the dining plan for people whose needs are not met by the dining plan.

I bought the DDE card last year before a trip with 5 friends where I knew I would be treating everyone to at least one big dinner at CG for my 50th b'day. The DDE savings pretty much paid for the card in that one meal since the 20% discount was not just for food but also for wine and cocktails. Used it again in March for more savings and will use it one more time this Nov. before it expires. A GREAT purchase for me!

This to me is the best deal at WDW. We were a party of 11 this past trip and saved over $800. We first used it on a small trip in December, where we saved enough to cover the cost. So, yeah, I'm happy with it and will continue buying it, even at the higher price.

Wow...y'all must have stayed a long time to rack up $800 in SAVINGS with the DDE!!!!! Your group of 11 spent $4000 on food and drinks???? Sounds like my kind of trip!!! :goodvibes

We love the DDE card! We too have saved $100s. We have used it for 3 trips totalling 45 days. We eat at a nice sit down every day. Within 4 days that card paid for itself. We are only a party of 3 and saved over $600 with this card.

We like the DDE card too. Even though we bought the DDP for our Oct trip, we planned extra TS breakfasts and lunches that we plan to pay for with the DDE card. It's totally worth the $60. :)

We are getting free dining this Sept, but are paying for one character breakfast OOP, as well as most food court breakfasts. Can we still use the DDE card for a discount on the refillable mugs, as long as we are purchasing a food item? I am still planning to get a small bit of mileage out of this card, even with free dining!

If I get 2 cards and our group breaks up into separate parties, does a named cardholder have to be present with each group?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what a DDE card is. What is it and where do you get it?

DDE is the Disney Dining Experience card which gives you and others in your party (maybe 9 or 10 max.) a 20% discount on food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) at most Disney restaurants. I think the current cost is $60 but it is only available to Annual Passholders and Florida residents. Being able to get it was the deciding factor for me in whether or not to purchase an AP last year. The DDE is good for about 13 months so most people use it on multiple trips. Especially if you are going with a large group, it is an amazing deal! Mine paid for itself in just a couple of meals!

Hi Everyone,

I couldn't believe the savings on our food and beverage tab last year. That, coupled with the Annual Pass Hotel discount, made our deluxe hotel stay last summer very reasonable.

I believe so. I think the name on the credit card has to match the name on the DDE.

Bear in mind, though, that each DDE card can treat 9 of your closest friends at one meal, as long as you're eating together and it's all on one bill. That feature, plus the fact that it's the only discount I've seen that applies to alcoholic beverages, make DDE a great plan for groups.

Party of ten last May saved over $600 in 5 days.

I am going to be on the dining plan too! I thought you don't get the dining card until you get to your hotel. Am I going to get any info about the dining plan mailed to me? card, etc?

Scratch that! Other postings in the thread gave me the answer. Sorry! I thought it was the card that they put all your meals on. You do get that when you check in right?
