We are considering the DDE for an upcoming August trip to WDW - but a slight complication with our Annual Pass...

To get the 'most' out of the DDE card, we plan to purchase it mid/end-July, so it will be good from Aug/07 through Aug/08 - we typically travel in August so this would be better value as we would get two trips out of it.

However, our AP expires mid-August/07. It will still be in-effect when we purchase the DDE - good. But, we haven't decided whether we will renew the AP or go with MYW pases.

So, the question...

To *buy* the DDE, we need a valid AP. No problem.
To *use* the DDE, do we need to present a valid AP? Or, do we only need to present the DDE card itself? If we need to present an AP as well, then I guess we will be renewing!

TIA, Jeff

I've had the DDE card since last August and have made 3 trips since then and I have never been asked to produce my AP.

the only thing that's meant to be required for using DDE is an ID.

inherently, the DDE and AP would have different expiration dates. couldn't last forever. but you may not be able to renew your DDE without an active AP.

You only need the AP to buy the DDE card, not to use it.

Cheers!

We've never been asked to show the AP when using the DDE card. And tho it appears to be a requirement (and we ALWAYS carry ID) we've never been asked to show that either!!
