Disney Dining,DIS Meets, and WAIT-Why is that lady holding..... FINAL THOUGHTS 11/27

After a short nap, we were refreshed enough to head out to the Studios. We didn’t wait long for a boat, and were seated and pulling away from Beach Club by 7:10 that evening. We arrived at DHS about 7:30, and walked over to Pizza Planet to eat some dinner. This was one counter service place we’d never tried before. It was fine---different than the usual hamburger/fry meal.

Afterwards, we walked down Sunset Blvd., to try to get in to watch the 9 p.m. Fantasmic! Seating had already begun when we arrived at 8:30. When we entered the theater, we were told it was standing room only. :headache: I stood behind the F! dinner package area which was still roped off. Because of the DIS, I knew that they would open that area up to anyone about 10 minutes prior to the start of the show. (Don’t you love the DIS??) :thumbsup2 As soon, as I got the nod from the CM, we walked into the reserved area, and found a seat on the seventh row. Not too bad!

Soon, the show started---Fantasmic is probably my favorite show at Disney! We took several pictures, but it’s so hard to get good shots here since it’s dark. Here are a few of the better ones.

After the show ended, and we had a short restroom break, it was 9:30. The park was scheduled to close at 10 that night, with Fantasmic showing again at 10:30. A lot of the people who watched the early show were leaving the park for the night. Most everyone else was going in to watch the last show. So, we decided to check out TSM, and see if a late ride was possible. The posted wait time was 50 minutes, but there were no people outside in line, so we took a chance that the time was inaccurate. As we walked into the building, there were no people at all in the first section of the building. I knew then that we were not going to wait that long. :woohoo: I looked at my watch and the time was 9:50 p.m.

We haven’t ridden stand-by in so long, it was fun to go through and take some pictures of things we usually miss.

I took two pictures of Mr. Potato Head, and didn’t manage to catch his eyes open either time!

I checked my watch again, and we boarded at 10:15---Nowhere near a 50 minute wait! Elizabeth and Reid rode together. Kevin rode with Rachel, and I drew the short stick and rode alone. Here’s my score at the end of the ride---Not that great, but pretty good for me!

When we left the ride, it was 10:30. We decided to get a jump on the 10:30 Fantasmic crowd, and go ahead and catch a boat ride back to Beach Club. There was one waiting when we left the park, so we got right on, and were back to Beach Club before 11 that night.

A beautiful Beach Club at night-

UP NEXT: BACK TO THE STUDIOS ON THURSDAY

Love the update. 3 of my most favorite things in Disney World - Pizza Planet, Fantasmic and Toy Story Mania!

I love the update! The kitchen sink looks like it would be so fun to order.

I  Fantasmic. I never read about them opening up the Fantasmic seating 10 minutes . I'll have to remember that next time.

The boat back to the Beach Club sounds so convienent.

Pizza Planet is one of those counter service restaurants that we keep going back to. There's not too many decent selections at HS.

Yay for getting good seats at Fantasmic. You were able to get a few good shots. I've never gotten decent Fantasmic pics.

We rarely get in the standby line for Toy Story Mania either and I forgot about some of the props there. remember having Tinkertoys! I loved playing with them as a little girl. I am sure that you were glad that the wait wasn't 50 minutes like posted.

Well I'm craving ice cream now! :lmao: That Kitchen Sink looks yummy!

Good move getting those Fantasmic! seats. :thumbsup2 And yay for hopping on in the TSM line! :woohoo: I love the picture of Reid and the giant Tinkertoys can. I used to love playing with tinkertoys as a kid - brings back great memories. :cloud9:

Enjoyed the update. Yeah to the Kitchen Sink for saving your day! What a great evening at HS! Isn't it fantastic how easy it is to get back and forth from the BC?

That Kitchen Sink looks fabulous!!! It is so neat that you all attempted to eat it!!! I want to do that with my family one day!

I also really want to see Fantasmic! one day, but in the meantime I will enjoy your wonderful pictures!!!

Woo hoo for the Dis tuning you into the fact that you can get into reserved seating if it doesn't fill up! And awesome lack of wait on TSMM!

GREAT update! What an amazing tip about Fantasmic!! Can't wait to try it out---thanks :goodvibes

I meant to comment on this before, but forgot... The Disney food blog actually did an article on these sometime in the past year. The ears are marshmallows!

Yes, of course! Now I see it. Cool. Thanks!! :goodvibes

Good for you trying Mission Space again! :thumbsup2 I was just telling Ramon the other day that I wanted to try it again next month...the non-green side. I rode it when it first opened, too and there was only the one ride - :crazy2:

I'm glad that after a rough afternoon, you all had THE perfect evening!! Kitchen Sink, naps, Pizza Planet, Fantasmic!, TSM!!! :dance3:

That Kitchen Sink is on my someday list! It looks so yummy!!

I noticed in September TSM would have a really high wait time posted, but the line was short. I'm thinking they do that on purpose to keep people away!

I never knew that tip on Fantasmic either....love that! :thumbsup2

Wasn't too crazy about Pizza Planet, but Fantasmic and TSM--are definite favorites of mine :)

I love the update! The kitchen sink looks like it would be so fun to order.

I  Fantasmic. I never read about them opening up the Fantasmic seating 10 minutes . I'll have to remember that next time.

The kitchen sink was on my Disney "to-do" list---one more think crossed off!

Definitely remember the reserved seating at Fantasmic. I'm not sure about the exact time , but they do open those seats up prior to the start of the show. :thumbsup2

Pizza Planet is one of those counter service restaurants that we keep going back to. There's not too many decent selections at HS.

I agree with you about the lack of counter service selections at DHS. I wonder why that is? :confused3

So glad you got some Fantasmic Pixie Dust.

Thanks! :)

It sounds like a great night at DHS. It is great what ice cream and a nap in do to help the energy level.

You got that right! :thumbsup2

Well I'm craving ice cream now! :lmao: That Kitchen Sink looks yummy!

I agree , I raided the refrigerator for an ice cream bar. It was not as good as the kitchen sink, but it was the best I could do.

You're welcome, ladies! :thumbsup2

Thanks! :)

YC/BC has lots of advantages, one of the major ones being traveling to DHS or Epcot. I stressed about not being on the monorail before we ever stayed over there for the first time , but it has a great location! :thumbsup2

Jackie-Are you saying that you've never seen Fantasmic?

I guess you need to go back for Fantasmic, and to have a Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream!

Woo hoo for the Dis tuning you into the fact that you can get into reserved seating if it doesn't fill up! And awesome lack of wait on TSMM!

Isn't the DIS great? :)

GREAT update! What an amazing tip about Fantasmic!! Can't wait to try it out---thanks :goodvibes

Thanks, Katie! :)

Same here. I'm gonna try that out too. :)

Double check on my times, but I do know for sure that it opens up to the public before the start of the show! :thumbsup2

Good for you trying Mission Space again! :thumbsup2 I was just telling Ramon the other day that I wanted to try it again next month...the non-green side. I rode it when it first opened, too and there was only the one ride - :crazy2:

Maybe you won't be as nervous as me about trying it again! It really was fine.

I think that after that afternoon, we all deserved a kitchen sink! ;)

That Kitchen Sink is on my someday list! It looks so yummy!!

I noticed in September TSM would have a really high wait time posted, but the line was short. I'm thinking they do that on purpose to keep people away!

I love "someday lists." It means we keep getting to go back to Disney! :thumbsup2

I think they post the time wrong to keep people from getting in the line. You can get in a line up to park closing, which means it's longer until the CMs can get off work.....So, I think they may fudge on the wait times, near park closing, so they can get out faster. Just my guess!

Great update, Michelle. That Kitchen Sink looks unbelievable. We've never been to B&C...one of these days I hope.

Fantasmic is a VERY close second in my heart after Wishes. And good for your DIS secret getting you a seat. And that is awesome that you got on TSM via standby with no where near the 50 minute wait it said.
