MidNite is there anyway you would consider sending me this one, or one like it, with out the name at the top. I've been looking for a 50th anniversary logo and can't find one that I like.

Thanks

Not a dumb question. A baste stitch is just a running stitch, down and up, that outlines the mickey head.

Kinda looks like this: _ _ _ _ _

I don't know if this helps.

OMG this is the BEST thread known to man! I am SO going to try and do this. My trip is not until Dec so I have lots of time to practice.

I want to make the tie dye Mickey ones and then one with a picture, as this is our 5th trip I will incorporate that into it too.

Just had to comment that you all inspire me to do great things! And I wanted to gte on this thread so I get notification!

BTW do you BUy Photoshop or can you get it for free somewhere and also can you take classes to learn?

ITA that you should all try and sell these on ebay!

Midnite - your designs are great - you've inspired me to try and make some of my own - but how on earth do I flip them so they print in reverse? Can you do it in photoshop?

RJ

Sure! In Photoshop, go to Image/Rotate Canvas/Flip Canvas Horizontally.

Midnite: Love you designs. I have another question for you. I downloaded a free 30 day trial of the latest Photoshop - Did you go to school to learn how to use it like you do? I've been playing around for a few days and am getting my "menu" design going, but it's hard to figure it out. I have experience with AutoCad and Printshop and some other "basic" stuff, but I find Photoshop a little hard to learn. I enjoy just playing around on it, but I was wondering what your educational background is. If this is something that I'll NEVER learn, I'll just skip it, but it it's something that can be learned, I'll keep at it. I don't mind, it's fun, but I still don't have the look I want and I don't want to "waste" my time trying to learn something that "everyone" has to take a class to learn. Hmmmm - did that make any sense?

Another question for you, too. On the "back to school" design that you did, did you make the background yourself? Also, did you do the "printing" with anything in particular - I love the chalkboard look it has.

My other idea is to use your chalkboard and put a "wood" border around it. Have the words "back to school" written on it and Mickey crossing off "school" and printing "Walt Disney World". See, we're going in Sept (normal back to school time) and I think it would be cute. I could add some "info" around the main print with our names and such.

Ok, sorry this post is long, but if you could give me some advice, I'd appreciate it. I'm really wondering about the photoshop "thing".

All the programs I use have been self-taught. Photoshop, Freehand, Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Flash, Swish, Swift, etc. I am sure you can learn too! I learned by following online tutorials, by playing with the programs, and by reading books on the subjects. Also, the help files on the programs are very useful.

The way I made the chalky looks was I made a dark background shape, then on another layer I used several different brushes in white(they were called Grunge Brushes , I believe) to make the streaks. That's all! You could find a frame photo somewhere and put it around the rectangle for a chalkboard.

BTW, would it be possible for you to change any of your existing designs to reflect my family's info :teeth:

Surely!

She isn't quite happy with hers. The mickey isn't as well defined as the others.

I wish I could tie dye. Those colors are brilliant!

Yup! Send the info over and I'll get you as soon as I can.

I just PMd Mid Nite and I cannot say enough good things so I wanted to tell you here how awesome you are!
Everyone here who made a shirt is unreal! I have C&P every instruction and plan to make my friend who DOES know how to tie dye help me practice on all our old tees while my dh is away this month!

thanks to all of you for your inspiration, this is our 5th trip and the first time I even considered doing this! Thankfully dh is very cooperative about these things, as long as I don't put him in pink we are good to go! I plan to do two tie-dyes and 2 prints for each of us!

That was what I was thinking, thanks for the clairification. :wizard: Have a magical day!!!

Midnite! Your designs are awesome! I was trying to create a tshirt design on my own that would be "hubby worthy". He wants a shirt that looks mature enough for him (WHATEVER that IS! LOL) and I want something that looks just as fun for the kids. If you can, can you help The Arias Family out? Thanks a bunch!

Okay Midnite, I have a rather bizarre request. I have a close friend who would love to go to WDW, but can't afford to right now. I'm hoping to surprise her in '07 with a trip, but I digress ..... for now she will have to be content with a composite facsimile I made with my friend's face and Lindsay Lohan's body ( I told you it was bizarre :) ) I've laminated the " Flat Cindy " and will be taking her with me to the parks next week. I'd love a t shirt design I can give my friend Cindy - the real one, not the flat one :) Any ideas would be appreciated :)

I've been camping - and I am now jealous!! :rotfl: I am so behind!! I have created a word document from all the great hints for making a shirt for our Oct Trip... then I was a Leader for our Troop, 17 kids new to Scouting, and camping!! I'm exhausted!! :rotfl2: Now the fun work begins!!

Thank you MidNite, I have a few pages to read yet, but got thru most of them, and I noticed your sig with the above link right off - its saved in that word document!! :goodvibes

I am so UNcreative, but I am fast learner, and a good copier!! Thank you all for every hint and help - esp those that ask questions I havent even thought of yet!! :goodvibes

I've planned the Oct trip to coincide with my mom and my dd bdays - a very special trip as we havent seen my parents in 3 years, and mom has those health issues that scare us into remembering what's important - so.... with that in mind....

When I hit the font of the Princess declaration, is there any tips to adding a name??

and I noticed one of your previous creations, is it hard for me to change/delete their names and add mine???

MidNite you are such a gifted artist. I have been away for a few days and am just getting caught up when I found all your wonderful designs. How did you do the princess one I would love that one not just for my Dd but for me as well. I agree with another poster can it be changed to reflect prince so I could make one for my DH. Ive gotten a lot of ideas from all of you. I still havent decided what I want to do for our trip. luckly I have over a year. Am thinking of doing either a princess one or mickey & minnie bride and groom with the words DisneyMoon II as we will be their around our anniversay and we went for our honeymoon.

Here is a shirt I designed. I got advice from MidNite. I used Photoshop Elements 2.0. My son chose the characters he wanted.
