Julia & Nick's Mom
Got a request if you have time........
My husband & I are doing the 1/2 marathon in January & I would love to have a shirt to wear that celebrates this milestone.
Mickey running for him & maybe Minnie for me.
The McDaniels run Disney......something along that line......you all are so creative, I am sure you can think of something great.
Thanks,
Melanie![]()

I learned quite a few things about tie dying (have the stains on my hands to prove it). I have another batch of 4 shirts that are setting right now, will post them tomorrow night. Here is what I learned....
1. Use plastic trash bag instead of newspaper (newsprint would bleed every so often)
2. Use a darker color for the Mickey outline and a lighter color next.
3. Double, triple or quadruple rubber bands to create white outline (am trying this on new batch).
4. Don't answer the phone with lots of dye on your gloves![]()
5. Leave some areas white so there are specks of lighter colors in rest of shirt.
6. Don't use doubled up fishing line for outline (got tangled and broke)
Here is what I am doing differently on my next batch ( I am a perfectionist, so this may not be the last batch..luckily Michael's has a sale on shirts right now).
1. Using black for mickey head
2. Used 6 rubber bands (doubled) between black mickey head and next color (which is yellow)
3. Mix colors and leave more white "specks"
4. Wrap tighter and let sit longer. I got 2 different dye packs, one said let sit 24 hrs. one said let sit 4-8 hours. I let it sit about 18 hours, will let it set whole 24.
Anyway, pics below are of all shirts (got shirt too big for me so DH modeled extra shirt). I think I did "OK" for a 1st try, but am hopeful the others will come out better. Will post again when done.
Again, Thanks MidNite & Julia & Nick's Mom for your tolerance and wonderful generosity!!!![]()

If I could make a suggestion for a few more generic templates??? I'd love to have different shirts for each park (and we're not travelling during Halloween, Christmas or the Food & Wine Festival). Maybe something jungle-y for AK, something futuristic or international for Epcot, something ... er ... cinematic for MGM?
Thanks tons!
