Thanks to all of your help with putting this thread together.
For all the help & ideas.
This is a lot of fun. I'm here everyday.
First thread I read everyday.
Anyone that wants to use my designs you are more than welcome to use.
I found them on art.com.
Just type in Disney in search.
Very easy for me as I don't have the best software.
Just did a little editing & added text.

FYI Michael's has a 40% off coupon in todays paper. :cool1:

I copied the TInk one from art.com, but I am loosing resolution when I try and make a tshirt? any idea what I am doing wrong? When I open yours (which I copied from this thread) the resolution is fine? Could you give me a pointer for copying it correctly from art.com or could you send it to me without the writing????? :flower: I would very greatful?
thanks, Penny

Here is how I did it.
When you are @ art.com
Click on picture to get full size.
Right click save picture as.
Send it to document.
Right click edit.
Change size to 500 vertical & 500 horizal.
SAVE
Send it to your photo shop.
Crop edit text.
SAVE

When you need to print for tranfers
Go back to documents.
Right click edit.
Rotate.
This should make it appear backwards.

It's a lot of steps.
After you get the hang of it it's easy.
Hope this helps you out.

Ok, I tried my first mickey tie dye last night and my Mickey isn't very pronounced. So what did I do wrong? I basted around the shape, then put the rubber band around the "pouch". When I was squirting the dye on I used a green dye for the Mickey, and I'm wondering if I should have used a different darker color next to the rubber band to outline the shape? I'm thinking about rebasting it and then just put a little more dye around the shape to see if that helps. I figure I can't wreck it, the t-shirts okay, I just needed to get more dye in the folds...live and learn...

Lori:

I would make sure that the stitching is really tight and that you also put the rubber band around it very tightly. Someone else used 2-3 rubber bands to make a white halo around Mickey. You might want to try that too. I wouldn't try to fix the shirt you have. I would consider it a learning experience and start with a fresh shirt.

Good luck!

I copied this from the Tech Support board Frequently Asked Questions--under 'how to post a photograph'--you can check them out if you need more help, I'm sure they could answer your questions. You should also test out your message before you try to post it--I can't remember where but they tell you on the Tech Support board where to go to do this.

This is from LisaTX on the thread:

You post a picture just like you do clipart. The short version is:

Now for the longer version.

The picture must be stored on the internet first. You don't have to design a website, just upload your photo to a site. We have a free photo storage site right here on the DIS.

The DIS Photo Gallery

You'll log in there using the same name and password you use on the DIS. After you log in, click on the upload photos button and follow the instructions.

After you've uploaded your photo, click on your photo so that it opens in a new window. Right click on the photo, click on properties, then highlight and copy the URL. It should look something like this:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/da...worksCastle.jpg

Go to your user cp > edit profile> scroll down to the signature box, and then paste the URL where you would like it to appear in your signature. Be sure to type
after the URL. There can be no spaces, carriage returns or extra characters in there.

Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on submit modifications. If this is your first time to have a signature, you will need to click the Show Signature box and the bottom of the posting window next time you make a post.

As long as were talking about signatures, please make sure your signature complies with the DIS Signature Guidellines.

If you need any assistance posting photos or complying with the guidelines, please ask on the Tech Support Board. We can usually reduce the size of photos to meet the guidelines.

Where do you all get the great pictures? I am going to start making up designs but need pictures. LOL

HELP!!! I need help with fonts???? Does anybody know what the font that "POP" is written in is called and the work "Century"???

I'm not even sure where to start looking....

Okay, so you didn't like my Friends of Walt design.:sad1: How about this one? I absolutely love MidNite's 3D designs but can't spend the $$$ on Swift, so I tried to create something similar in Photoshop. This board is a great stress-buster! There's a lot of stuff going on right now that is hard to deal with and which I can't do much about, so I come here to relax. DISers rock! :cool1:

Try here, ZW, Mickey Avenue. I see they have two fonts for Pop, one for the logo and one for signage.

They look great! What transfer paper did you use, especially on the darker shirts (pink and green)? The white in the designs stayed WHITE! Great job, and congrats on your wedding!

Thanks!

First, put every element of the design on its own layer, and when trying out things like burning and dodging to put in highlights and shadows, copy your layer first, so you'll have a fresh one to work on if you totally mess it up.

I used a Mickey I had already created. Those I made using the Oval Marquee tool and Fill. Hold down shift while dragging to make a perfect circle for the head. Then Fill with the color of your choice. Then make one ear in an oval shape. Fill. Remember, everything goes on its own layer. Copy the ear layer for the second ear. Use the Free Transform tool to rotate the ears to the right angle. You can also click inside the box and drag to move while in Free Transform.

I made the highlights on Mickey using the Dodge tool. I kept looking at MidNite's chocolate brown one to check the light direction. I set the exposure pretty low and kept clicking until it looked right. It took some practice. Then I used the Burn tool to create the shadows. That required quite a bit of practice and patience also. Putting in the shadows and highlights was probably the hardest part of the whole thing. Even with a graphics tablet.

To make the reflection of Mickey, I copied the head layer w/out ears, and flipped it vertically. Dragged it so it's almost completely below Mickey but not quite. Then used the Dodge tool to erase down to amount reflection I wanted. Used the Burn tool to create more shadow at base of Mickey head (top of reflection).

I added the hearts on another layer, changed the opacity, and used the Dodge tool to erase some of them back to sort of match the reflection of the Mickey head.

I created the words on two separate layers and the big heart on another. I changed the opacity of the heart.

I think that's it! I probably told you more than you ever wanted to know! But if I left something out, please feel free to ask! Although I probably won't see any questions until tomorrow. I'm not one of those late night DISers. I'm one of the early morning ones!

This is what I have done.
I went to art.com
Clicked on the picture to get it full size.
Saved it as Tink (and it defaulted to jpg)
I tried opening it as a document file (in word).
that didn't work
I right clicked on it and it came up in paint file.
I could not increase the pixels.
Then i tried to increase them in Print Shop and that didn't work?
I can make the T shirt once I can increase it's size.
I have made many tshirts, but do not know how to increase pixels.
Please help????? :confused3
thanks, Penny
I just saw that you posted it on the page before. SO i copied it. WHen I increased the size, again it lost clarity. I am just not meant to have this shirt. :(

i can't remember the name of the paper, and unfortunately, i know exactly where it is in the garbage. but there's no way i'm digging for it. :)
i do know that there were 5 sheets per pack, and that is had a little dog on the front. the Mrs. got them at AC Moore.
I too was also suprised at how well they came out.
hope that helps!
