I'm trying to choose between these 2 designs for our last day.
What to you think?
Grumpy or Donald.

Sorry they are so small Photobucket keeps doing this.
Grumpy says: I'm Not Grumpy! I Just Don't Want To Leave Walt Disney World.
Donald says: I'm Not Leavin' Walt Disney World

I vote for Grumpy..... :goodvibes

I used dark shirt transfer sheets on all my shirts & they worked fine. My colors looked ok. I used Avery brand & just followed the directions listed. They were easy to use. I even used them on white shirts. I just cut around the designs.
Here's how mine turned out.

Good morning everyone! Well, I have made another one - this has been hanging around in my head for a while. It is for a pillowcase for my son for our cruise this fall.

The concept is that the Magic is flying off to Neverland on pixie dust :)

MagicalDreams_compressed.jpg

How I did it - for those who are interested.....
The hardest part was removing the background from a photo of the ship - it took about an hour to get all the bits around the edges. The "pixie dust" is just little star clips. In Paint Shop Pro we have "picture tubes" (the icon looks like a stamper marker) where you select the "tube" you want and then just keep clicking to put them whereever you want them. I assume other programs have a similar type of thing. Once I had the stars I applied a couple of effects to them ("colored edges" and "dilate") to make them look a little more magical. The moon is a photo - it was easy to remove the background for that one and I made the layer it is on a little transparent to make it blend in a bit better. The text is ChopinScript from dafont.com. I used a gold metal fill and then applied an inner bevel to it 3 times. I'm not sure why it turned silver, but I liked the look so I kept it!. I also added a drop shadow to the text.

Is there any way you can zoom in on the graphic and wording of this shirt? It looks like a great shirt, but I can't see it very well. Much appreciated. :)

Do any of you use the dark transfer paper on white shirts? I read somewhere here that is makes the color more vibrant? I did a shirt last night but the color looks alittle faded. Any suggestions?

I havent used it on white yet, but I just did it on gray and I found out that where I pressed the hardest the colors were much more vibrant. I had to redo parts to make the colors match. I stood up on a chair so I could get my weight behind it and used the tip of the iron and the colors came out great! At one point I thought I was burning it, because it smelled terrible, but there were no burn spots.

pdarrah that pillowcase design is very pretty, i love it!

When you do try it (or anyone here has already) tried the dark avery transfer paper on 50/50, please let us know...

Thanks all!

I did two shirts today using the Avery dark on 50/50 shirts and it worked great! We havent worn them yet, but it looks wonderful. :Pinkbounc

Lol, I thought that looked familiar. It is what I am using for my best friend's wedding invitations/save the dates/programs/thank yous/etc. I really enjoy that font. And, it works perfectly for their music themed wedding! :teeth:

WOW! It's the first time I'm seeing one of my designs on a shirt! It looks great! Love it on the blue!

I bought Hanes tagless "pre-shrunk" cotton tees. I pre-washed them and they shrunk from a size 10-12 to about a 7-8. I am so disappointed :sad1: I can't get started on my transfers until I get more shirts.

What brand has worked best for those of you who have finished shirts? Maybe I should stick to a 50/50 blend. What do you all think? :confused3:

Mom of 2 - did you erase the background around the characters? If so, how do you do such a great job of it. You can't even tell it is erased. When I did it, even the straight lines weren't that good? is there a secret trick I don't know? thanks, Penny

Could I get one of your Buzz Lightyear shirts with Disneyland at the top and Jacob at the bottom? Thanks.

Hi pdarrah:

Can you do a ship with stars without the date and The Disney Magic on it??

Thanks every so so so much

Thanks KarenW,

I took your advice & put my back into it when ironing & my last batch came out pretty good..I wish I had a digital camera to post what they look like..I am surprised they came out so nice. (I'm not that crafty) but with all the info here I guess that helped quite a bit....now all I want to do is make shirts..I am addicted.

Triplefigs....
I'm glad you think the shirt turned out good. I think it did too & it does look really nice on the blue tshirt.
I love it!!!!
It's my song....mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm.
Thanks again for such a great design.
You rock. :rockband:

I got the Hanes 50/50 at AC Moore. I was actually trying to shrink one because it was too big for my youngest dd..well it wouldn't shrink very much at all.. so if you don't want them to shrink, I highly recommend the Hanes 50/50. I had to go back to AC moore today & get some smaller shirts & they weren't on sale anymore. :sad2:
