Is the Disney Christmas collection, put out by Department 56 from 1994-1996, worth anything? I have the complete set and and would like to know if it has increased in value?
I also have this set, minus Tinkerbell's Treasures and the Silversmith. Both pieces can be found on ebay and go for a tidy sum. The other pieces are found rather easily and don't seem to have appreciated to much more than their original price. It's a lovely set though and my family enjoys seeing it set out at Christmas with our other Village pieces.
Every year Department 56 puts out a guide, it is published by Greenbook. In it is listed every piece that Department 56 has made in their various collections. The original price is listed and what the current value of the piece is. I'm sure any store that carries Department 56 would also carry this book.
I purchased most of my pieces at Bronner's in Frankenmuth MI and finished it up at the Christmas Chalet - Disney Village Marketplace. Since then I've moved from MI and Disney no longer sells the village pieces so I have kind of stopped collecting any Department 56. I will find a store in one of the malls and try finding the book with the retired pieces and values. Thanks all!
