Disney denying meal vouchers

I bought meal vouchers for CRT and Chef Mickeys from the Hotwiresavingsclub.com

When I made the ressie for CRT they charged $30 to my to make the PS.

Today I called Disney and explained that I had the vouchers and how and when do they credit the $30 back to my card. I went through 3 CMs in customer serivce who all denied the the existance of the vouchers and told me I was taking a risk by buying them since Disney does not authorize any such thing.

I know many of you have used them for CRT. So how do I get the $30 back?

Ugh, when I saw this subject my stomach started to churn. We have a ton of these we're using in Sept - can anyone confirm?

The phone people never handle the vouchers, so they don't know they exist. It's another example of how often at Disney, one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

They will refund the deposit to your credit card at the restaurant, when you show them your vouchers.

I just had a question? When you make a PS at Chief Mickey's do they charge you a deposit? I plan on paying the bill with disney dollars.

We were not charged a deposit when we made a ps for Chef Mickey's.

I used them last year with no problems!!!! So I would take a deep breath.

Last year I paid the deposit for CRT and then used the voucher during the meal. The waiter was very nice but he said he didnt have any record that I had paid a deposit. (Kinda weird because it was required when I made the reservation) But I gave him the vouchers and then when I went back to the room I called the Disney Dining and told them what happened. The CM was very helpful and credited my credit card and apologized for the inconvenience. When I got home a week later I looked online and it was there. No problem. Hope it helps.

No, not for Chef Mickey's. As far as I know, a deposit is only for the Princess Character Breakfasts.

Which vouchers did you buy? I just got 12 of the Quick & Casual Lunch or dinner vouchers in the mail today. These are not good for the character meals. Which ones should I buy for Dinner at Chef Mickeys and the Crystal Palace?

My stomach dropped also when I read the subject of this post 'bout had a fit

You can buy the breakfast vouchers and use them at the character breakfasts.

I think Mary is right, never listen to the phone people--when we first bought the Q&C's back in 2001, I called to ask a question about them and the CM had no clue what they were. From what I understand, these are vouchers that Disney uses for people that get packages that offer meals, they are definitely authorized by Disney, only not all their staff seem to know about them. I wouldn't worry, I am sure it will get straightened out when you get there and show the voucher.

I will be using a breakfast voucher from my FITS passes, so I am expecting a credit to my CC for CRT as well for 6 of us.

I used vouchers for CRT, got my credit refund no problem. I suppose it would be the same thing if you were to pay cash for CRT...you'd still get a credit back for the deposit.

Hi. I used vouchers at CRT and had a lot of trouble getting the deposit credited back. The server said it would be taken care of, but it was not on my next card statement, nor the unbilled activity subsequent to that. Thus began a long series of phone calls, emails and even letters to get it resolved. It was a very frustrating experience for me. Most calls were dead ends, referring you to somewhere else. It seems that only after a letter of complaint to Mr. Eisner's office did I finally get someone who could actually do the reversal. Most others claimed to not be able to find any proof of my having been there or eaten there or used vouchers.

I would recommend getting some kind of proof the charge was reversed before leaving the castle, or calling dining while still on site as was mentioned by doodlebug above. Apparently the files are purged and they later may have difficulty finding proof you were there!

There was absolutely no problem using the vouchers however. Good Luck!

Is my memory faulty, or did the CM usually ask if you're using a voucher/meal plan when they book the PS? Somewhere in the back of my mind, I remember that...

i was asked if we would be using a voucher to pay for our crt when i made the ps... at the time the answer was "no" but since then we added the prince/princess to our 5+2 and now the answer is "yes" so i asked the cm who did our add-on if i needed to alert wdw dine and she said it was not necessary and she would take care of it for us... can i assume she did? should i not worry about it or get some sort of confirmation that our credit card is refunded before we leave the castle? if so, how?

On our last trip in January, I made our PS for CRT and paid the deposit on the CC...then added the prince/princess plan...when we went to breakfast, the CM told me, too, that there was no record of my deposit. I found that odd, as well, since I had had to make the deposit to book the PS but he was insistant. I chalked it up to a problem w/ my CC, but now I am thinking that I never got that refund! I'll definitely be more vigilant in the future and would advise you to follow the advise of others: make sure they give you your deposit back!

I think I am going to call and tell them I have vouchers for CRT and see what they tell me to do about the credit for the deposit. I will post my results.

Just like they can run your credit card through for a bill, they should be able to run it through for a credit, and hand you a receipt. I would ask for one while I was there, to avoid any problems later on.

Hello!

I will be dining w/ 1 adult & 2 kids at CRT and only using 1-adult voucher.

Will they apply the $20 deposit towards the kids only portion of the meal, so I don't have to worry about trying to get a refund??

It sounds like it would be easy, but you never know!

Has anyone ever used adult vouchers only and paid for kids seperately?

Yes, we paid for our adult meals with vouchers and not the kids meal. What they did though was to refund the deposit amount to our credit card and then charge us for the kid meal on its own. Don't know why, but that is how they handled it.
