Who here has a Disney-themed house (or at least a room or two?!). Not really talking about a kid's room, but something for YOU, the adult, simply because you are obsessed like everyone else here on the DIS and you need to surround yourself with the Magic at home?

I'm actually looking for ideas so pictures are a bonus, too!

Would love to see/hear about how Disney people interior-decorate their homes!

I had a Princess Bedroom in my old house. I used to be a CM at a Disney Outlet (when Disney still owned the Disney Stores and Outlets and Catalog...) and I decorated my spare bedroom in Princess stuff! I had framed pin sets on the walls, Princess wall border, and Princess pillows, etc.

My bedroom was done in Mickey, with a Mickey Quilt, Headboard, lamps, etc. I spent my whole paycheck on Disney stuff for my house. (I only worked part-time for the perks... I'm a full-time teacher!)

But then I got married and DH is not that big of a Disney fan, so most of it is packed away.

but I think every room has a little Disney in it. I would like more, but we live in Canada and can't get alot of the nice things to decorate with sent here.

In the living room I have a Disney candle holder that hangs on the wall. In the kitchen I have a pizza cutter, pooh silverware and Crystal Mickey and Minne salt and pepper shakers. In the rec room is where the pin collection is (small) and a few Disney pictures, but I am considering moving some of them upstairs. The girls have a ton of Disney buddies, but they aren't displayed (not enough room). In the bathroom I have vanilla scented bath soap in a bottle with a Mickey head shaped top. I don't think I have anything in my room!!

I am still trying to figure out how to combine my love with Disney with my decorating style. I have lots of ideas, but the product just doesn't exist or is to expensive to get it here or it can't be shipped here.

Kitchen is filled with Disney cookie jars a lot more mickey things will be joining them once we buy a house ... holding off for now. Our master bath is in Classic Pooh (semi disney). When we move DD found the POTC how to at Home Depot and wants a pirates bedroom :)

I am not really into Pirates, but I can only imagine what the decor would be like!!

There are so many great things and characters with Disney that I find it hard to chose what to do.

Seems like all the family potraits of late are all Disney Themed. We are fortunate to go the last 5 years in a row and we have at least one of the pics from each of the years. I have couple of the pics in my small craped office as well as a screen saver pic of us at Aniamal Kingdom. We have stuffed Mickey ,Minnie, Donald Goffy and Pluto in the bedroom. We try not to go overboard in Disney Decor but we did move from KY to FL to be closer to our favorite spot on earth

Just today, we started on our Disney Themed Home Office and so it was so cool to find this thread! :upsidedow We started on our "photo wall." All of our favorite photos from our trips will be framed in simple black frames. 8 up on the wall so far, a zillion more to go. :rotfl: I was actually thinking of posting for ideas for our desk...
Actually, I guess it is more of a "workstation." We designed & built the workstation the entire length of one wall. We have fabric under a glass top and now want to change the fabric to a Disney theme, of course. We have not been able to find any fabric we like for an "adult office." Any other suggestions?? We were going to put certain items under the glass, too, like the menus we have from our favorite Disney restaurants.

Is that new at Home Depot?!!!? I'm gonna have to check that out - my boys would LOVE that room!

On my dining room wall, I have the framed menu and photos from the "Lunch with an Imagineer" that I did with my son; the autographed plate I got at that lunch is on the top of the bookshelves in the kitchen nearby. I also have a large framed photo on the wall of my family taken after my birthday celebration at Boma - we're standing outside AKL.

Ok. Just sitting from the couch in our apartment I can see Disney coffee mugs lining the top of the refrigerator, tons of Disney magnets on the fridge, two Disney paintings (the cheap reproduction type that cost $100...not the good ones :sad2: ), a Mickey clock, various pictures of our Disney trips, a Disney piggy bank, and a Fox and the House movie poster. Now in the bedroom we have more Disney pictures and posters. There is also on a drawing of Donald and Daisy from one of the Disney artists in the parks. Plus, on the desk there are Mickey office supplies. We've gone Disney crazy. We've Disney plates and Christmas stuff as well. No cool themed rooms, though. I can't wait to get a house to decorate Disney-style! I love the garden statues on disneydirect.com and think I could make a really cool outdoor area with Disney stuff.

Not really sure if it is new or not. I went to pick up my LGMH and saw the "ideas" booklets next too it. They did a pirates design room complete with a boat bed, it is not typical pirates but it is adorable. They did a bathroom as well that is awesome complete with the octopus legs (the cracken) and skull and crossbones. It was really cool how they said to do the skulls on the walls. You use the same color as you paint the wall but the wall is with a matte paint and the skulls are a gloss or maybe it is vice versa. I would have to look but DH is sound asleep in the bedroom with my purse lol. Very cool look though I would have never thought to do it. They also had a princess theme and the way they put it on the wall it reminded me a lot of the typical LV pattern ... very cute. The other one I saw was a buzz theme all very neon colors.

The only entire Disney room I have is the playroom which is Peter Pan. But other parts of my house have Disney touches. I cannot add pics to my posts but if you care to look at the pictures of various areas of my house, you can see them at http://tarazandra.com/house/disney

Just checked out the photos of your home-very nice! :thumbsup2 I am looking forward to getting the same stepping stones for our yard. Also just love the BELIEVE "sign" on your mantle! As I posted above, we are just now starting to do our Home Office in a Disney Theme. My DH and I are both having a great time with it! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Thanks for the nice words :) I *love* my Believe sign. It's only out at Christmas, but now that I think about it, it's kind of appropriate for Disney as well. Have fun with your Home Office, I love the desk stuff at disneyshopping.com

There are so many great things and characters with Disney that I find it hard to chose what to do.

I just redid my son's room a few months ago. Matter of fact, still not quite finished! It is a sort of a POTC. It is not a cartoon type, but a little more grown up, since he is almost 13. We refinished the floors in his room, so now they are the original fir. (What a chore that was!) I repainted the walls a natural color and then flecked them with a little black and brown, so it looks kind of like linen. The part above the picture molding is painted a shade lighter, but is not flecked. I painted a compass with black, red, natural, and metallic gold and mounted that underneath the light fixture. I stenciled "Dead Men Tell No Tales" in black with a accent of metallic gold above the picture molding.
I bought 2 different POTC posters and framed them. I bought a signed print of the original artwork with the lyrics to POTC and had that framed. I already had the porthole mirror, but I stained a piece of wood that my husband cut for me and mounted the mirror on that and hung it over his antique walnut dresser.
My son has the Flying Dutchman ship sitting next to his framed picture of Davey Jones.
He is a Lego Maniac, so he has tons of Legos and Mega blocks around the room. I still haven't made his bedding yet, but that is next, when I get a chance.
It is kind of Nautical mixed with POTC! When I get it completed I will try and post some pictures. We live in an old house, so it is always a work in progress!:rotfl:

You must be very artistic!! I am definitely not, so anything Disney for this house will have to be bought.

I guess I am! I love to do that kind of stuff! My son wanted me to paint something on his wall too, but we ran out of space! LOL! His room is really tiny! Thank goodness we have 9' ceilings!
You can do it! What I painted wasn't really hard, but a little time consuming! Don't be afraid to try it! Paint is pretty easy! If you don't like it, you can always paint over it!
I forgot to mention that I had an old dome top trunk, which was the inspirational piece of the whole room. It was my mother's and she gave it to me several years ago. It was gray and black with wood, but I painted the gray parts red and antiqued it. Now it is his pirate chest filled with his treasure, which is his Lego! LOL!
