Congratulations to the TEAM for turning Mufasa Orange!

While we're on an "M" streak, let's look at Maurice, Belle's father in Beauty & the Beast. I saw some articles praising him for letting Belle be herself, even in the face of social pressure. But I have to say (and maybe this is an unpopular opinion) I wasn't really impressed by him as a father. It seemed like Belle spent a lot of time cleaning up messes he created--including exchanging herself for him as the Beast's prisoner. Here's an article by someone who agrees with me.

Congratulations to Twilight Sparkle for being the first team member to turn Chief Powhatan Purple!

Chief Powhatan is the father of Pocahontas and the leader of the Powhatan tribe. In the Disney movie, he ends up rejecting the path of hatred thanks to Pocahontas's influence.

Unlike other Disney Dads, Chief Powhatan was a real historical figure. Here's some information about the real Chief Powhatan. And here's another article from Historic Jamestowne.

Oops. I haven't added any of my minutes for the month yet! I was travelling this week, but we're back home today. Here's what I have so far:

Good morning, and Happy Father's Day in the US.

Congratulations to PollyannaMom and Shanny McB for turning Chief Powhatan Purple and to Elizabeth Smith for jumping in at Mufasa Orange! The TEAM is now Chief Powhatan Purple!

Today's dad is one of the Fab Five--Goofy, father of Max. We get to see their relationship in A Goofy Movie and An Extremely Goofy Movie. Here's an argument that Goofy is the Single Best Father in All of Disney.

thanks! Yes, today is supposed to be even hotter, yet I still have to go out there. One of our horses is hurt, so I have no choice. Yesterday was the first day of injury which is why it took so long. Plus there was a show going on which meant way more people around than normal, slowing me down, and since I rushed over after receiving the photo of her, I wasn't properly hydrated and didn't bring enough water with me. Hoping today will be a lot faster. At least I will be better prepared. That will help a lot.

Today I have to mention one of my all-time favorite Disney movies, Follow Me, Boys! Fred MacMurray plays a man who, in making a life for himself in a small town, starts a Boy Scout Troop. In addition to becoming the honorary father for dozens of boys over the years, he and his wife adopt a boy in need of parents (Kurt Russell in his first Disney role).

When we took the D23 tour of the studios last fall, I may have found some Follow Me, Boys! References:

Thank you! I was so surprised at how much better the wound looked even after just 24 hours!!! Hopefully she continues to heal like this. And, thankfully, I did a lot better in the heat yesterday so that boosted my confidence. I was afraid my age was catching up with me and was going to force me to start slowing down, but I really think it was just that I rushed out there unprepared for the conditions.
