Disney Cruise Thread

Hey everybody! I'm going on my second cruise this July. It's a Magic mediterranean cruise and I am stoked :D

Any tips for the teen clubs? I usually don't have problems making friends(that sounds really geeky to say xD), but on my first Disney cruise this past July I found the whole situation really awkward :confused3

Oh my god you are so lucky! I REALLY wana go on that cruise! And the Rivera one sounds like fun too! when are you going? (This will sound geeky as well) but is it hard making friends on cruises?

Hey so i'm going on one in April, I don't know the excat date but it's come up. I'm going on the dream :scared1: <----- excited not scared. I'll be seventeen at the time of my trip. And i don't wanna sound geeky either but I am cuz not so great at making friends but hopefully be able to on the cruise.

Lucky! I hope you have lots of fun! But yes seriously for anyone who has ever been on a Disney cruise, what the heck is it like??? And how easy is it for someone (who's not necessarily ms./mr. social butterfly) to make friends???

Our cruise sets sail July 9th :)

I guess making friends isn't hard. I met a few girls that I talked to a couple times throughout the cruise. In all honesty, though, most of the time I spent with my family on port (again, it's geeky, I know).

As far as what it's like... I went to the teen getting to know you thing on the first night. It went like this: the most boring guy ever (I'm not trying to be rude, but he was about 112 and spoke in a monotone :headache:) talked for about an hour about how we can't do drugs, drink, or spontaniously start making out so that we don't disrupt the other guests :lmao:. Then, the people who worked in the teen club basically did the same talk only they tried to make it funny (emphasis on the tried). And then we all played a game that was supposed to break the ice.

Then, it was 'dance party' time. That was pretty much one girl dancing around (in a very... interesting way ) and every guy there dancing around her.

I'm the type of person who finds it hard to put myself out there and make friends, but then when I do I... blossom (that's a terrible word, but whatever), so I found the whole situation uncomfortable and left an hour or so into the dance party.

I went back to the teen club once more while my parents were in Palo, stood there like a stick in the mud for 5 minutes, and then got the heck out of there :upsidedow.

Sorry that was really long and kind of critical-sounding, but that was my experience with the teen clubs :). The rest of the cruise was amazing, by the way :D

Let us know how the Dream is! It looks awesome :)

Oh god, that sounds like an experience that I would try to avoid but would end up having anyway! Which cruise was this? But I'm glad the rest of the cruise was fun!

I'm going on the august 9 Alaskan cruise on the wonder.

My parents went on a cruise (non-Disney) to Alaska for their honeymoon, and they loved it! They said it was so beautiful. and your not going to get much sleep because during the summer the sun sets for about an hour and then rises again :)

This was July 20-25 last year. :)

One fun memory did come out of all that though. Try to picture the teen club-- the entrance is right outside a bank of elevators, so an elevator actually runs through the club. About 40 minutes in to one of the talks, just as everyone was getting really restless, we hear a ding, and the elevator opens to reveal a couple about the age of my parents and an older lady. :lmao: They were completely mortified, and made some comment along the lines of "This isn't the spa!" and clicked the correct button. Unfortunately, I guess there was an elevator problem or something, because it took a while for the elevator to process the change. Finally, the man started pressing the 'close door' button and it finally closed :rotfl2:.

Haha that's hilarious!:rotfl2: that's probably why (I'm pretty sure) there's no elevators near the teen lounge on the Dream!
